Ordered a Mojo 4 XT build for my wife today. Sales guy said he ordered one last year and it should be in early Aug. Shout out to Joey at Jensens.
Please, don't laugh at me. My wife decided she wanted a new bike this year and hope is all I got.

Ordered a Mojo 4 XT build for my wife today. Sales guy said he ordered one last year and it should be in early Aug. Shout out to Joey at Jensens.
Please, don't laugh at me. My wife decided she wanted a new bike this year and hope is all I got.
Sales guy: “It I’ll be here by August”
Me: “August of this year?”
Sales guy: “like I said it will be here by August”
Sales guy under his breath: “I didn’t commit to which August”
I hope my ripmo Xt arrives before august. Put a deposit on it in November and it had been ordered prior to that. Originally mid-March delivery. Last week the shop said “soon”, they got word from Ibis that a bunch of bikes were on their way. “Could be any day for your bike”, which I took to be “could be next year for your bike”!
This is definitely the coolest multi tool I've ever had. Very slick little unit.

Do you carry a chain breaker?

NEVER Break the Chain
https://youtu.be/JDG2m5hN1vo
I haven't been overwhelmed by my Brooks C19 and when I saw a Selle Anatomica H2 for sale locally, I contacted the seller. It turns out that SA wasn't made for his ass and he was willing to do a swap for my C19. Heading out for the first ride on it this afternoon.
Replaced the freehub bearings on Mrs C's rear wheel - Mavic ITS-4 hub. Amazon delivered promptly. Nice and smooth, no more play...
The reason that I carry one is to remove links that may have become too deformed to use. I carry about three extra (connected) links, and two master links just in case.
I use my chain breaker once every two years I’d guess... enough that I wouldn’t ride too far without one... I shift like a gorilla with cerebral palsy, so that’s likely the reason...

I use my chain break and quick links at least once a year, usually more. Never needed it for my bike but I’m the only idiot who carries tools for rides. Most of the times it’s for complete strangers stuck way in the woods. At least when it’s one of my group, I get some beers out of it.
Speaking of chain breakers, this arrived today:

I'd been tidying up my under-seat kit I keep on the SS the other day, transferring everything to a zippered cordura coin purse, and noticed I no longer had a chain breaker. I found this one on AliExpress for $13 and thought it was nifty, smaller and lighter than anything from Park or Pedros. I'm not a multi-tool guy, preferring actual hex keys, so pulled the trigger ~2 weeks ago. Tested it out today and it works fine, so into the pouch it goes, secured (along with a tube) by a Granite Strap. Unless I'm mistaken, this is an original design ZTTO is offering, rather than a Chinese copy of someone else's stuff. And yeah, I may use a chain breaker on the trail maybe once/year (often to help someone out) but when you need one, you need one.
Installing a new BB and the welds still get me. Every. Damn. Time.
I got the green one because I needed a bike.

Norco Optic 1. Two rides in so far so good. Norco was never really on my radar but knew the reputation that they were trusted by lots of canucks. Good build kit for the money.
My Hightower frame cracked and is being warrantied. More than likely I wont see the frame replacement until fall if I'm lucky. Feel lucky to have found the Norco at my LBS.
Nice looking bike! Especially during this chaos. I’m trying to help my buddy find a bike and it’s been basically impossible

Bought some and ordered some tires for bike park stock. Mount these puppies up in a couple weeks on the eeb. Ordered a mich dh22 and checking the distributor for some dh casing vee rubber tires.
Ive tried huck norris, nukeproof ard, vittoria air liner, and tannus tubeless so cush core is long overdue. Put this on the front of the enduro/park bike this weekendAttachment 376204

I need some flats, pretty set on the OneUp alloys. Anybody have a coupon code for a retailer that carries these?
Built up the ol’ Moots YBB and took her out for a shakedown cruise. No worries…
That is an old school moots...love mine, will never ever give that bike up.

Thats always been a dream bike for me. The acceleration of a quality hardtail is something i miss having. My body just can't handle a hardtail anymore. A ti ybb has been stored in my brain since the early 90's. Definitely a keeper

Surprise new bike day the other day

Finished assembly and swapped tires and took it home today.
Had heard my shop had wrangled me a new cross bike but wasn't sure when I'd actually see it. Figured like, hopefully before cx season. But it got here tuesday so that was cool. Going to be nice to have a little longer, lower, and slacker bike with disc brakes. That's a 21 kona major jake btw. Pretty good spec, rival 1 with force carbon cranks. Will probably go race gravel in helena later this month with it.
Nice! that's a good looking bike.
Pulled the trigger on a Soma Juice frame this morning. Pretty sure I have most of the components to build it up, just need to find a rear wheel and handlebar.
Nice score, only June makes it sweeter.
After a bunch of issues with my MT7s following a crash (first front, now rear), I decided to throw on a buddy's pair of nearly brand new takeoff Code RSCs. I'll probably go back to the MT7s after I replace the olive and rebleed the shit out of them, but I wanted to try something different. No significant time on Codes, just a couple rides on demo bikes, so this should be interesting.
Tough to compete with new bike stoke, I should be able to pile on to that wagon next week. In the meantime, added am oval bling ring to my current daily driver. I think I'm done adding purple for a while.

Replaced the old sram spider/94bdc ring combo and saved some weight, but really did it trying to chase down a creak that's still present. Looking more and more like it's new cassette time.
If you figure out the MT7s, let us know what the issue was. I’ve been an Magura convert for the last few years. You have to fight some gremlins to get them bled, but once they are setup, they are worry free IME.

Yeah when they're fresh, they're great. I don't think bleeding is that hard if you understand how bleeding works - I can do that without issue if I don't rush the job.
FYI: I got a detailed answer over at RM about this. https://ridemonkey.bikemag.com/threa...4/post-4532606
My local mechanic disagrees on using the silicon spray, at least until after we've tried just using mineral oil first. I'll try freeing them up myself one of these days, and if I can't get it, hand them to him. When I got the brakes used a couple years ago, the front caliper was sticky, and no amount of scrubbing and lubing would make it run smoothly.

New bike day for me. ‘21 Spec Fuse Expert. Shakedown ride on familiar but wet rooted slick trails, plus riding Flats (99% clipped) made for a fun twist on familiarity. Going to be fun one.

putting the stanchion pants on backwards never felt so good. the Mezzer is pretty amazing (coming from a Grip1 36).

Nice!
Love the Mezzer!
Finally got around to getting the MT7’s onto the slayer. Life got in the way so no riding yet but hopefully tomorrow….

Finally got the wheels I've been waiting for for a few months now, each had to come from a different distributor but thankfully they both had ep programs and they wound up being less than I expected, and cheaper than building carbon rims to the same hubs.

30mm wide, 240 hubs

centerlock so I had to get new rotors (well they come with adapters so technically i didn't, but if i'm going through all this i might as well get the right ones)

2.25 Mezcal measures almost 2.4, the barzo is a touch smaller.
Just need my cassette to show up then i'll do a new chain and brake pads to go with them. I also have a 2.35 racing ralph but no front racing ray to go with it, not sure what I want to use for butte. I know the vittorias so probably these or a fresh set.
In the meantime, trail tires went on the stock wheels. I have a dhf and a nobby nic, still trying to decide between aggressor and minion SS for a new rear. the NN is getting a bit old. But on the other hand I already had it and it's a decent combo.
I bought 12 draw tickets to help build a trail project & won the grand prize a giant explore E-bike worth 3200$ in the draw
its a large which is too big and kind of an old persons commuter but its gotta be worth 3200$
if i get 3500 for my yeti 5.5 that most of the cash i need for the new Orbea Rise
