Axe, swing by for a brew when your in town.
Glue. I'm too lazy to search all 32 pages. I've been doing exclusively inserts with 72 hr epoxy last few years, but I'm doing a pair of skis w/o inserts for someone that wants to remove the bindings at the end of the year with minimal fuss. Wood core no metal. Besides Roo Glue what are you guys using that's available at the local hardware store that wont be a PITA on removal? Plain ol' wood glue?
waterproof wood glue
could be this one...there are others

Big Steve recommended using the 3m 5200 marine adhesive awhile back and that is all I ever use now. I like that you can break loose w/o soldering iron in field.
What's the issue with using roo glue?

Is there any reason I can't mount these without the plates, as long as I cut down the screws? Attachment 172061Attachment 172062
Out with the old, in with the new. Fucking mounted my new to me turbos last night with Peak 15s, sold the old ones in GS on Friday.

Mounted Thing 1's new fucking skis for his fucking birthday. No template so I had to totally freeball it. Also had to do a little brake bendy. Came out money.

Those are sweet. Finishing up a couple mounts tomorrow. Gotta do some brake bendy.
You can but...
There is a pretty good ramp angle built into the plates themselves. So if you just remove the plate and custom shorten the screws (in increasing degrees as you move towards the back, I might add), you'll feel like your boot toes are hauling wheelies. Possibly putting you in the backseat.
Plus the base of the binding (without the lifter plate) is not designed to be mounted directly onto the topsheet. Vibration forces will eventually cause cracking/failure to occur.
I very nearly shit my pants mounting guardians on my wife's Kartels; I was 100% sure I drilled them backwards (tail up). Turns out I just flipped them around for better clearance under the drill press. Definitely had a moment of panic.
Throw a little extra masking tape on twin tips to mark which way is up. That's a really easy mistake to make. I didn't previously think I was dumb enough to make a mistake like that. Clearly I am. Glad there wasn't a penalty.
dynafit specs 4.1x9 bit i have 4x9.5 can i use that?
thank's going for it
Mounted my own fucking skis this morning. New, total $183.00. Yeah babyAttachment 172436
And a second fucking pairAttachment 172438
in an attempt to mount my own fucking skis I purchases the 22designs jig and proceeded to leave it at a buddies shop to use (he only had a 4 hole). Now I find out we're not actually buddies after he sold out and packed up without telling me, so I have to fight to get it back from the new guy. Good thing new skis are not in the budget I guess.
What state are you in?
Your "friend" had no legal power to transfer ownership of your jig. New guy is currently possessing stolen property. Send a certified letter, return receipt requested to the new owner, inform him that he has 24 hours to facilitate the return of the jig, or you'll be filing a claim of stolen property. It will be much less hassle for him to return the jig then deal with the police at his door.
I am not a lawyer. I never even stayed at Holiday Inn. But drop me a line if you need help with the letter.
No beer while mounting for me. I did this on the clock things have been slow

I just put a drunken ebay bid on skis I don't need... so I might be mounting another fucking pair of my own fucking skis very soon. :nonono2:
Bandit Jr mounted his new Shiro's last night in ~20-min. He's stoked on his 100-mm fatties with burly DIN 2-7 bindings.
