Man half the population was exposed to second hand smoke. Yah it would be better iff they weren't but most of my mom's fandamily are still alive. Except my psycho uncle in the hospital today after the VA let him out and he was found not breathingin the city streets. Sorry it wasn't second hand smoke. I love my crazy hippy uncle but his problem wasn't seond had.

Completely benign? Okay, no. After all, breathing smoke isn't natural and there are potential health effects. And some people can't handle any substance use at all, their grasp on sanity is tenuous to begin with. But Comparatively benign? Of course. Compared to alcohol, tobacco, driving too fast, stress, a poor diet, lack of sleep, saying dumb shit in public (you might get your ass kicked), TV, and a whole host of other behaviors/actions that people indulge in, yeah it's fucking benign. And when you weigh the behaviors that dope smokers tend to moderate (fast driving, stress, alcohol abuse) then it's probably a net benefit to the population at large. Okay, TV watching and junk food consumption probably go up.

I'd like to know what the other half was so I could go nowhere near it the rest of my life.

I'm not a "smoker" and whenever someone hands me a spliff, I get the spins so fucking bad. You know I'm not a lightweight so it must be the tobacco.
I'm sure I'm wrong but it could be.
I'm sure the half flask of rum I started out with, then the wine tasting I went into, then the few glasses of wine I had at the table, and the 3 gin on the rocks I had might have had something to do with it as well.
