Wow amazing response to this thread. I am damn impressed. Some insane photo stoke in here...CO, UT, NM, EC...sick.
My weekend just ended on Wed. Here's a teaser...more to come later. This is my new favorite jump ever...barring maybe a couple at Whistler.

If you're in the PNW and want to hit some singletrack, there is an intriguing ride I've got on the top of my list to hit out in the Olympics - Mt. Muller. Description on bbtc.org trail site. The camping nearby also sounds as impressive as the trail might be!
Drop by for some beers if you're in Seattle. Enjoy the riding.
Sorry to hear about the breakage Squirrel, I know how that goes. All DH'ers do.
Sorry I missed you in Seattle - we had endless social appointments...my wife knows WAY too many people here! Got some incredible riding in though, stoked.
Oh and Alaskans and Canadians are gnar-core with the snow riding.

Heh, I started writing a reply about how cool it'd be if some nice Alaskans would take in a geologist living in Massachusetts, and then I remembered that they have six months of cold darkness (more or less). I'll stick to my original plan of just visiting. ;)
By the way...

I have enjoyed this thread, so I thought I would bump it with some pics. They aren't too exciting, but are pics of my local riding that has been making me very happy lately. There's something about riding over a layer of wet aspen leaves that brings a huge smile to my face :D

Yeah I've had that happen too. But it was from sliding off a hidden root and breaking my jaw.

A cool one from last night

Couple from Seven Springs, PA. Nice place the resort had a western feel to it. IE tourist trap. The trail was a nice buffed out path with some doubles, berms and other features, it reminded me more of a BMX track.

It was worth the trip from Morgantown they only have one bike trail and I would be bored shitless if I went more than twice a year. They are going to put in additional trails and had a good rental fleet of Kona's hopefully they put in some technical riding.
-
Nice dude! I was wanting to make it over there before the MTB season closed, but I hear they got enough traffic this fall to give them the green light to build several new trails this spring before opening, more tech true DH supposedly. 7 Springs is only 3-3.5 hrs from Cbus so I plan on spending a lot of time over there next summer. We'll have to get a maggot crew to meet up there for sure. Would also like to check out Wisp...
-
Nice...

Particle, I think WISP is funner it has technical singletrack a few rock drops and a dual slalom course, I wish they had a buffed out 7springs type trail to add to the mix, Then maybe I'd start charging the doubles a little harder. I know I'll have a season pass for the WISP next summer MarsB probably will too. You can always crash in Morgantown which is 45min from wisp and an hour to 7 springs.
-
Various stuff kept me away from Wisp (and, actually biking in general) for most of the summer, but I definitely plan on getting up there a bit next summer. Seems a no brainer since my folks have a place 10 minutes away.
-
Nice! Thanks for the crash space offer SC...might have to take you up on that. When does the season usually get going, April or so?

And 10 minutes from Baker's Ridge! :yourock:
Particle, I might be hitting Ray's up during my Christmas vacation (12/21-12/30). You gonna be around? Good opportunity to add some photos to this fine thread.

Absolutely! Drop me an email, we leave for UT 12/29 but otherwise I'll be here. I might be going up there on Monday, will post pics for sure if I go.

Bakers, Coopers there are alot of great rides close to Morgantown. Plus a couple nice DJ's and rhythm sections at White Park.
I think Wisp opens up last weekend in May, not sure though. As for the x-country riding, I tend to be in a kayak from march to may so don't have any experience with trail conditions that time of year.
MarsB and I were also talking about taking a Rays trip this winter. be fun to hook up with some of y'all
-
Made it up to Ray's yesterday for my first time there, had a blast. I was too busy riding to take pics.
Was it the mind-blowing thing it'd been built up to be? Nah, but still very very cool. Loved all the options for progression they have. Some of the stunts were just silly hard. Most were challenging but doable. Even the beginner room had lots of fun stuff to play around on. Dialed in my x-ups on the foam pit which was cool.
We should definitely plan a maggot trip up there this winter, it's about 2hrs from my house...not too bad.

^ That trail sucks. I mean, it really, really sucks. The views are horrible, the trail is way too smoov, and the last .098 is the worst piece of trail I've ridden...EVER!!!
I know Lph will agree with me, especially about the last part. ;)

I love how it says .098 miles on the trail sign.
Sooo, did Lph have an "issue"? Let's hear about it. :FIREdevil

Thunder Mountain is definitely on my to-do list. So is a nap.
I'm going to slay that trail . . . . in my dreams. :)

Yes, he was pissed off at the liars who made that sign...VERY pissed off...in fact, he was so mad he was giggling like a little schoolgirl. I mean, when a full grown man giggles like that, you know it's bad.

Nice Mr. AG! Damn I can't wait to get down there and ride. Gonna need my 2-ring setup working for that one though.
