western slope of front range mtns and high mtn valleys will receive only light snow accumulation from this storm.:nonono2:

Well, I am uncertain of that. A trowal is on the backside of the digging low or NW of the closed low circulation. The moisture I guess is wrapped around the parent closed low, but I am uncertain if this system will tap Gulf Moisture or working with the Pac moisture it is entraining as it cuts off.
The GJT forecast had the dendritic growth limited to the Steamboat zone and didn't mention much regarding a trowal inthe afternoon discussion
My latest trowel has picked up a ton of bullshit from rontele and makerstelemark.
Make sure you dig six inches deep, fellas.
This storm is in someways very similar to last weeks storm and different. The models are diverging a bit unlike last week's storm when they were aligned. I don't think the orographic component is favorable for the aspen zone, but GJT called for a strong cold front to move through tomorrow night. They are still under a WSwatch, so my guess would be a foot or so.
Where is Red Baron when we need him?
I forgot the internet doesn't go all the way to Chicago...silly broadband.
and so it begins

I'm in Iowa (family), to be back in town tomorrow...but have to go through Chicago, and set to arrive at around 5:30pm. Not good, not good. I'm probably going to be stuck in Chicago. I already tried calling this afternoon about an earlier flight...as to be expected with holiday travel volume, absolutely NOTHING earlier I can get on.
Hoping/praying my flight can make it from Chicago!!
I can cut and paste too. Only mine are colorful.
:fuckyou: :fuckyou: :the_finge :fuckyou:

That looks like gulf moisture to me.
Good luck gettin up here. Bitches.:fuckyou:
I better leave now if I'm going to pull that off...they'll probably have Pena closed by 1:00. ;)
I've got a bad history of falling asleep at the wheel, so doing the 10 hour drive solo through the night is not a good idea for me, unfortunately.
Probably will go to the airport at 5:30am, and hope to get on something earlier standby...
Scott, if you can make it here you know who to call. Unless you're going to solvista again.
All I have to say is bring it, I don't have shit to do until the second when I start my new job in Aspen.
just started dumping in Breck..........:D
Mmmmmmmmmm.
It's beginning to look a lot like christmas...

Nice, there is a HUDGE gap where we actually want the snow to fall.
patience.
And that's huge with a D so you know its big.
This is what I'm expecting... nothing less.:)

Supposed to head out for Silverton tomorrow. Hopefully we can get out!
I'm heading up beau coup early tomorrow for a couple of days, praise be to ULLR!
"Multiple Accidents. Major Delays." on I-70. Should be impossible, err, impassible (nothing's impossible) in another hour or two.  and dumping at Sol Vista's redheaded stepchild a little ways' down 40.
well fuck. I'm gonna get really hosed on this one.
Last one, we got out during the storm on Wed (?) afternoon - still took us 3 hours to get to Frisco. Woke up early, and had a foot at Keystone, mostly to ourselves. Came back down to Denver Thur PM and it looked like a war zone.
I'd love to get out of town right now, ahead again, but the gf has a dentist thing in another hour or two, and her Chi-town friends are hypothetically arriving later tonight at DIA. Originally scheduled for Fri mid-day, so I told them to change to Thur mid-day if they wanted to get in at all. Of course, they ended up on an 8pm flight, which is probably only marginally better than Friday morning.
I'm sure they'll be delayed, which means we've got no shot of getting out tonight, which means we'll be fucked in the AM by the traffic shitshow on Friday AM.
Sigh.
My wife's Frontier flight has already been cancelled. It was supposed to arrive DIA at 9:30pm.
I just want to reiterate how much I hate you all right now.
I will be eagerly awaiting pictures tomorrow night. Best of luck with the cancelled flights, Yoss! (I hope that's not bad karma to say that...)
Come on CDOT, keep it open a bit longer.
We are hoping to get out of Boulder around 4 and get to Summit. Lets see if CDOT can keep it open into the evening when things really pickup. If not, we do the super early departure tomorrow morning or just head to Eldora or super secret spots in RMNP (could be slow though as the angle is low and predicted snow fall high)
