Physical Chemistry. It's a bitch. Organic was a breeze for me, really depends on your professor and how he wants you to learn the material.
I'm probably going to start camping out tomorrow night or thursday morning. Luckily I have some prescription amphetamines if I need to really go the distance on keeping awake!
I might bring my sleeping pad and sleeping bag if I have to, not going to bother with a tent. I don't have to take Physical Chem as a premed requisite, thank god.
It won't be colder than 40 degrees, so I'll be set I think. Lots of coffee and sleeping until noon on Thursday should be enough. (First and only class at 1230)
i'd be weary of current presale prices on ebay. a lot of people are intentionally overbidding those auctions because they don't like the idea of people reselling them in the first place.
anecdotally, it seems that everyone i've known/heard about who is talking about picking one up on launch day is doing so to sell it on ebay. take that as you will.
Any PNW'ers doing this? it appears that Best Buy or Circuit Citys may have up to 50 or 60 at each store. Could be worth it for sure.
I'm crappin'-my-pants excited about this.
We'll have to come up with some stats afterwards on "total mag profits based on PS3 sales".
This is an honest question: what about the Wii? Will that sucker be worth a million dollers on ebay too?
yea i was thinking about doign the midnight store, but i think you really get GNAR points and are more assured a ps3 if you do the overnight.
i'm about to search, but any websites out there that tracked the price of xbox 360 on ebay after release. ie- is it best to throw your ps3 up on ebay directly after you bought it, or wait and see if demand/the market value rises....
the price of the xbox 360 went up slightly the week after the release when they announced that the next release would not be for a while. not sure about the ps3 dynamic here.
hmmm...I like camping and just nabbed a new sleeping bag. Blue, where might one find a listing of SLC area retailers who will be carrying it? Heck, if the Park City Walmart is selling them I'll bring my Jet-Boil, sleeping bag and make enough loot for the powstash family quiver upgrade. Kids, let's get ready to ski! (am I dreaming? I know so very little about game systems)
Anyone in Denver down for doing this?
If not...Phish and other Boulder guy (sorry, it's TOO late, and I don't remember your handle now)...I'd probably be game for heading up that way.
I've never done this before...how do you work going to the bathroom? Is this where it's essential to be camped out with at least one buddy, to "hold" your spot, and hold back the wolves so everyone else in line doesn't think someone is letting you "cut"?
Seems like most stores are doing the midnight release, no?
Edit: I guess that's what the blue balloons are...non-midnight releases?
a jong ebay flipper, i am curious about the idea of whether its worth it to do this for the ps3, or to sell it immediately (imm. the market will be flooded no? ...but also flooded w/ buyers...).
al so curious about the bathroom situation, as i am out of adderall, and will be consuming massive amounts of redbull and coffee.
You're best off if you can find two friends to sit with you so you can squeeze back in between them after a bathroom break. If you're stuck by yourself, you better immediately make good with your neighbors by offering them some tasty snacks and possibly booze. Luckily I have a decent stockpile of delicious orange pills, so I should be able to keep breaks to a minimum.
What are the chances of getting one at midnight, and then bookin it to another store that releases them at some time in the morning and picking one up there too?
And what would be a good time to show up for the midnight release?
I am in SLC, and interested, if someone wants a bathroom buddy.
Looks like people have already started camping at some stores
good info here

I'm gonna check out the local places at 2pm on thurs, if there's a shitload of people already there... no go.

OMG...if its really like that everywhere, I'm going to bail. That's just getting ridiculous.
I'm heading out right now to scope things out.
People were already camped out in front of the one Best Buy that I checked. I cant set up camp until around 530 or 6 tonight, so hopefully I'll be able to get a spot.
A few observations
1. A lot of maggots are currently in college of some sort or other
2. Some of you may lose your ass on this
3. When I was in college pyramid schemes were all the rage
4. A lot of you are pill heads
Hell, $1,000 just to camp at a big box store for a night or two?! Sign me up. I'm gonna scope out the local Target, Walmart, BB, and CC tonight. Maybe I can get my wife to go in on this with me and we can score two PS3s. Damn, that's a pretty sweet vacation right there.
nintendo has already made 2 million of them, has announced they will ship at least 4 million world wide by the end of the year, and they are producing them very quickly. the Wii will not be scarce enough to warrant reselling it on ebay. by contrast, the ps3 is shipping 480,000 worldwide for launch, and only 2 million world wide by year's end.
not only is nintendo not doing the "artificial scarcity" thing to up the hype, but their production capacity is larger than sony's is right now anyway. everyone that wants a Wii by christmas will probably be able to get one.
but the PS3 is ridiculously expensive to begin with, and it sucks for a host of other reasons.
also, i'd warn people to inquire if they're going to camp out at walmart. i've read elsewhere that walmart is planning to do a lottery for the midnight release, in which case your 48 hours of camping out may not even get you a console. inquire at the store you're camping to make sure you know how they're planning to deal with the release. here's an article you might want to glance over if you're serious about camping: http://devron.wordpress.com/2006/09/...amp-out-guide/
How could you lose your ass on this? Could you not just take the PS3 back if you could not sell it on ebay?
I called around to the local Walmarts and BB today around noon. The Walmarts all said they were receiving only 6 PS3, 2/4 ( High end/ Low end Model). There were already 6 people at one and 8 at the other camping out, they were doing 1st come, 1st serve. Best Buy guy said that they are only releasing half as many as originally planned here in the states and that the next shipment would not be until around Feb. or March of next year. Good luck to all it will be nice profit w/ only half as many released. I expect you could get anywhere from 1800-2500 on ebay for em.
I just called local Best Buy and there have been 65 people in line since yesterday afternoon for the midnight release.
Oh Vermont, how I love you. My local Best Buy today told me that last year for the 360 people showed up at 3 pm the day before. I'm gonna go do some recon right now but I'm pretty sure I'll get in line at 2 tomorrow and be ok.
6ish people at Circuit City, no one at Best Buy. I'll be there at noonish tomorrow.
