Mrs Jonski:
167 Phat Luv
Very lonely. But once we leave Aus behind and headback to Euroland, she (currently) wants 176 gotamas. Sure it'll something even fatter by next season when we go!!
am still looking for new skis for this winter. currently old head iM85 in 186 with teletouring set up. want something slightly wider & a lot lighter. suggestions?
and some short fischer whatever slalom skis w/ alpine bindings i keep in case i end up working in a skischool this year.
My new stuff: 177 Fischer Kehuas with Naxo nx21 (plus new BD skins, can't wait to try that little lot and see what all of this touring lark is about)
My old faithfuls:
170 W105s with Salomon 900s bindings
170 public enemies with Rossi scratch bindings
Tried some B3's at the Zermatt skitest weekend. That's a great ski!
New K2 fugatives this year...w/ look p12 ti lifter bindings. Stoked to try them out!

Damn it... I hate to ask... but are you all big girls? I don't mean this in a bad way, I know must world-class skiers are much bigger than I am... I just can't imagine skiing on 170+ anything (and it seems like you all do!)
Thank you, Twins, for letting me know that I'm not too crazy with my little skis.Quote:
Mrs Twins had a good summer.

She is very petite/size does matter in this case anyways, heh.
I got big thighs and a big heart, but I don't think I could handle anything that long (at least not on my feet)...

It's called....I was blessed with big, muscley thighs that need a longer ski with that power I have. Anything shorter for me and I feel like I'm going over the handle bars per say.
I don't know any other way to describe it.
Maybe not all...

Little Schindlerette:
150 Helidaddy w/ Axial 110
140 Bandit W w/ P10
I am rather kid-sized and very light weight (115 lb). So it's inherently difficult for me to flex certain types of skis. Also, I tend to go w/ shorter lengths b/c I am 5'3". No matter how hard I trained, and good I got, I think I'd have a tough time skiing something over 170.
But that's not even an issue because I'm a total klutz on skis. No worries here though, I'm only in it to have a good time, enjoy the experience, and connect with the mountain...which I do, quite literally on many occasions!;)

Edit: I think my k2 fugatives are 159
172cm Metron M11
169cm Seth Vicious
Ashley! Good to see you around here again! How's the peeing in the pants problem? Any progress?
Mrs. GM:
158 Salomon Hots
158 Atomic Sugar Daddys
Looking for another ski for all mountain. At 100 lbs., I might as well get her some juniors.
Nice split Demolition Woman! I would love to know what you think of it. I haven't been able to stray from NS since the mid 90s.
154 Never Summer Infinity (still waiting for my 07)
154 Never Summer Infinity (05 model)
Flow NXT FX (I thought I would try something different this year)
32 Vela boots
162 Line Mothership Flites (tele mounted)
No, I'm only 5'4ish (5'5 on a tall day) 125lb... I guess I'm just used to longer skis from my racing days on long skinny sticks. I've definitely gone shorter, but still don't like them too short:
176 Scratch BC's w/freerides (but they feel shorter because they're so soft)
177 Beasts w/ 914s (thanks DaveP!)
168 Gotamas w/140s
piece-o-shite rental fleet lost-and-found skis for the unoccasional tele-day.
and if anyone knows of a size 22.5 AT boot that exists, I'd really like to know, stupid little feet.
-168 Gotama with yer standard wee little chick Salomon 912s
-168 Gotama with Naxos
-158 K2 Mach Slalom with an old pair of demo bindings, 'cuz once in a while things get frozen out there
-165 Salomon Extra Hots 'cuz once in a while there are a lot of rocks out there, but I've never really skied on anything I've hung onto for rock skis so anyone wanna buy 'em?:D
You think 140 is considered big or medium big? Especially for a girl that lifts and keeps in shape? That's just darn right normal. I bet she looks awesome!
Oh, and I had this crazy idea now that I want some Rossi's...like Kellie was debating.
Mrs. Comish
175 Head Monster 88's (she loves these)
173 Sugar Daddy's (she hasn't felt the love, but they are mounted too far back)
170 W105's, unmounted as yet
17x Head Monster 85's
She is 5'9 and skis pretty dang well. she has also hated anything she has been on that is <170cm. She disagrees about the small ski thing being pushed by the companies.
Hey let's NOT get this wrong, and get me in trouble......I was simply stating a fact that her weight is not tiny, so she has no problem pushing around some solid skis!! And for the record, I like skier girls....no skinny-minnies for me!!
Rossi's? Come on altachic....stick with the Volkls (dont listen to Kellie).
Oh, I already have the Gotama's, I just want another pair....of Rossi's!
158 Karhu Jils (bc & big pow days)
160 K2 shes piste (days where it hasn't snowed in while)
160 B3's when I want some bonding action
I'm 5'7" and 145 lbs. Whenever I write my weight on the form for setting my bindings, the shop guys always ask me if I made a mistake. They say "Come on, you can't possibly weigh that much. You're like 120, right?"
In today's world, there seems to be some stigma about women admitting that they weigh more than 125 lbs. Apparently, I didn't get the memo.
I agee with altachic, 140 isn't big or even medium big for a woman who's 5'6". It's strong and healthy.
End highjack.
The Squad isn't any everyday ski, but it floats and does sort of a "spatulate" thang in gnar conditions. I really liked it once I got used to it (like 1 or 2 runs). It skis COMPLETELY differently from the B4 (or first gen B3 that I have). I think Rossi has the stiff flex pow ski dialed...so i agree with Kelli. Volkl is a great ski company too but there is no need to stick to one brand. Like eating the same cereal every morning.
Asandygal- I'm 5'9 with big skier girl legs and have been on skis since I could walk. I need a big ski otherwise it's just not fun, but I don't like them too long either. It all comes down to what you ski the best on.
Agreed for sure.
I'm a little girl, 5'2'', but definitely rocking skiier legs, and I really like mixing it up between my big 175 iggys which really make me push it and go hard, and my 167 phat luvs, which let me relax and frolic a bit.
I don't like the increasing push to put people on shorter and shorter skis, but other than that its really all about what lets you ski the way you want to.
Just so you know, good skiers don't have to have big skiers legs. This girl charges as hard as anyone I've ever known, is a climbing guide on Denali, and won the wasatch powderkeg by over 45 minutes!
