But what about the elusive upcarve?
A few pics from the last couple days at Bridger. Despite the lack of any real base most places, the skiing has been really fun.
Got to the parking lot at the crack of 2pm on friday with tenex198 and a non mag, Joe.

The snow out there is kinda strange. No base most places, except those that saw a lot of skiing compaction earlier in the year, which seem to be stable. About 2-2 1/2 feet of blower on top of that, so if you can find somewhere with a consistent stable base, the skiing is awesome. All in all, a hell of a lot better than I was expecting with the crappy fall we've had since the end of october.
That was actually FZ leroy, I was the dumbass who slept through the alarm...
Dang, I miss the bridgers too. I love fairy lake

See now THAT'S what I'm talking about.
Nice work gents.

Oh man, you're making me miss home. 2 more weeks, 2 more weeks...

will we have fresh powder when we get there in feb???;) /midwest touron gaper voice
it actually looks pretty decent in those fingers shots- not as bad as I'd have thought- but our mtn's good for holding shady stashes like that I guess... pray for snow, seed the clouds, burn some skis or somethin...
finally extracting photos from my cellphone (lateNight beerEnhanced "project")
so here's a TR inside a TR from a fun bridgerish tourday last yr, chronological-mosaic style even...
not meant as a hijack- just a small (BBrelated) fotoTR not worthy of its own thread

Not on this thread or I will skin him ALIVE
just a little psa, you do NOT need a sled to access the Northern Bridgers, even in midwinter. Now I am not gonna tell you exactly how to get there, just know, there is a way, and it is not fairy lake rd. it is only about 3 miles in too.
it's all the same gravity wasn't that it?

I liked it, I was just sayin'...

While the snowpack has been floundering at super low levels, the snow that is on the ground has actually been skiing pretty well. Cat-like reflexes are required to avoid all the obstacles, kind of a slalom all the time deal.
Met up with Nate and lurker Brad for some ridge hikes, got some nice turns in on the 3rd finger, the apron, and Hidden. Nice to meet ya Brad, let's ski again soon and post up already!

Anyone interested in BB tommorow morning? I'll probably get there early for first chair as I have to take off around 1pm.
I said above that I would post some carnage. First crash is non mag Grim Bucket. He couldn't see the rocks and just drilled em half way down.

Next up is Half Mag Clarf. He was all good until his second turn. Watch out for ski aerobics, good stuff, neeto gang.

Thats it for wrecks today, working on some kukuus nest footy, be up tonight.
Hey Sfotex workinforturns is down.
The footage of Kukus is from this past Wed. Workinforturns, Non mag Brandon, and I blazed trail up the ridge for some fresh pow. Above Kukus was great, nice soft turns. Once inside kukus was a different story. I knew that this line was going to be a little hairy but I saw a few lines coming out about a week ago.
Usually the line is steep just above the arrow head rock, and then mellows out when you get close.(Just Lookers Right of the Arrow Head) Since we have low snow, it was pretty steep all the way down.
Below Kukus:Mid-season last year
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...wKukusNest.jpg
The Exit is usually a small pointer with a tight slash turn to the right. On wed. the exit was a 10' pointer to a 3' hop over some meat grinders. Slash turn, even faster. We all got out clean, and the footage turned out pretty good.

The next few clips are from earlier today.(Thurs.) After 8" of snow in 48 hours the conditions were looking good. This morning was a little cold and very windy. On our third run we decided to hike. When I took off my right ski my brakes fell apart. That pretty much ended the day for me, but I did get some footage of Clarf, Workinforturns, and Layin'downcarves dropping the Diving board.
Clarf:

Nice work gettting videos up Tom, hopefully we'll snag some really good stuff this weekend...
FZ - I was hiking up past you when you hit the diving board yesterday. Nicely done.
