There is only one song that when I simply hear the beat I want to get up and kick someone in the face, and that would be: Brooklyn Zoo- O.D.B.
However, My favorite rap song of all time goes something like this:
I ain't givin none of y'all girls money shit fuck y'all
Love y'all but fuck y'all let me bounce this ball
Screwface you bitches fool on y'all
He won't slip won't trip won't ever fall
Bitch you obey me you better not betray me be calling no cops saying 'this is his baby'
Chorus" pussay........for free........I want pussay.....for free
You canNOT have my money
I want pussay......for free
The late, great, O.D.B.
Edit for: Yeti Man is a funny, funny guy.

Eric B And Rakim--Know the Ledge
Public Enemy--Louder than a Bomb, Bring that Beat Back
NaS--Get Down, Life We Choose
Ice Cube--Check yo'self
J5--A Day at the Races
JayZ and the Roots--Jigga What
Swollen Members & Nelly F.--Breathe, Vampires
People Under the Stairs--Acid Raindrops, the Hang Loose
Lifesavas--Soldierfied, Me
The Herbaliser + Jean Grae rule hip hop IMO. Perfect blend of flow, grit and a little irie I.
Favorite hip hop song.
Twice Around - The Herbaliser featuring Jean Grea
replaced my prior fave
The Blend - The Herbaliser featuring What What (Jean Grea)
A few other honarable mentions.
Nas - One Love
The Roots - Act too! Love of my Life
Tribe Called Quest featuring Large Professor - Elictric Relaxation
There's a great Pete Rock + CL Smooth track that samples Juicy extensively. Good stuff. Can't remember the name.
The best rap/hip hop song of all time... I am tempted to give this to Ain't No Fun (If the Homies Can't Have None) by Nate Dogg and Tupac....
"When I met you last night baby
Before you opened up your gap
I had respect for ya lady
But now I take it all back
Cause you gave me all your pussy
And ya even licked my balls
Leave your number on the cabinet
And I promise baby, I'll give ya a call
Next time I'm feelin kinda horny
You can come on over, and I'll break you off
And if you can't fuck, that day, baby
Just lay back, and open your mouth
Cause I have never
met a girl
That I love
in the whole wide world"
However, my vote goes to:
1.) Put your hands where my eyes can see- Busta
2.) One Mic- NAS
3.) Regulate- Warren G
Runners up that I really like:
Soweto- Goapele & Hierogliphics
Hypnotize- BIG
It was a Good Day- Ice Cube
Music- Erick Sermon & Marvin Gay
Gracias, Hev! I checked these guys out on Itunes off your recommendation and ended up buying 2 albums. It's what I've been waiting for! Super Thieveryesque, groovy beats with smooth flow on top. Dig it!
NY State of Mind - Nas ...even Primo says it's one of his best beats.
Also - Incarcerated scarfaces - rae and ghost
Not so much a single hip hop song for me but a 90 minute tape with NWA "Straight Outa Compton" on one side and Beastie's "Paul's Boutique" on the other.
It was my $$$$$ tape. Nearly all day, every day, I planted hundreds of thousands of trees to that old cassette. I still get amped up whenever I hear any of that music.
Have to agree with "NY State of Mind."
For Biggie I like "Things Done Changed" or "Warning." Those songs are just chilling (not chillin')- grim, paranoid, and (unfortunately for not-former-Celtics G.M. Chris Wallace), prescient.
For Tribe- "Electric Relaxation" ("I like 'em brown, yellow, Puerto Rican or Haitian...")
Talib Kweli- "Move Somethin'"
Common- "The 6th Sense."
De La Soul- "A Roller Skating Jam Called Saturdays"? "Ego Trippin'"? "Big Brother Beat"? God, I don't know.
7L & Esoteric (feat. Inspektah Dek)- "Speaking Real Words."
I also really like "Burn, Hollywood, Burn," just because Chuck D sounds really pissed off, even for him.
I could go on, but I have a lot of shit to do...
everyone is talking about "let me ride" and "nothin but a g thang". how about deep cover with snoop and dre.
The Chronic is a masterpiece of an album.
But so is Ready to Die and countless Pac albums. Some old Jay-Z tracks are hiella too. Fuck, there are too many to name...not including less known, but equally talented DJs/MCs (quannum, madlib, pb wolf, automator projects, hieroglyphics, el-p and def jux, and many others I am forgetting).
Rap rules.
"best", not "20 best" or "what's on my ipod"
and it's been mentioned already, but here it is, hands down.
gang starr - you know my steeze
you cannot name a better track.
yeah i can. and i did.Quote:

You've missed your alotted time to reply to my well thought out comeback. Therefore, I win the debate.
:( the scant recognition paid to Ice-T on this thread makes me sad in the pants. :(
