Well, Keystone was most definitely not the place to be today. A nice one inch layer of snow on top of the frozen crap we've had the last three weeks. My new Bros rail on the groomers at least!

I know you guys think Breck sucks ass and all, but it was fairly nice in the trees yesterday. By afternoon the scaping from the frozen underlayer was gone...
Just got back from a few laps on Monarch's BC. The sun was out at 10 & snowing heavily at 12. Boot top to knee deep & basically untracked 'cept for a few from yesterday that weren't quite filled in. Seems to be bonding to the dust crust better than I expected it would. It's only up near the divide though - lower down (Garfield) only got a couple.
It looks like Wolf Creek and Silverton are doing just fine, too.
You are correct sir:
S-ton Mtn =
Snow Report 3/10/06
Base: 80"
24hr new: 12"
48hr new: 30"
72hr new: 30"
and
WC =
Report Date : 3/10/2006
Report Time : 1:53:14 PM
Last 24 Hours : 24 inches
Last 48 Hours : 34 inches
Last 72 Hours : 40 inches
But... as for the SJ's BC... Sketch:eek:

Hmmm.... Wolf Creek or Aspen?
Got some reports from Snowmass that indicate more than 4" has fallen. And Aspen has nightlife; but, Wolf Creek has had 40"!!!!
...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST SUNDAY...
THE WINTER STORM WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST SUNDAY.
PERIODS OF SNOW...HEAVY AT TIMES... WILL CONTINUE TONIGHT AND THROUGH SUNDAY. THERE WILL BE BRIEF AREAS OF CLEARING THROUGH THE WEEKEND. BUT SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO BE HEAVY AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY ON SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY. BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON...UP TO 3 FEET OF NEW SNOW IS EXPECTED. IN ADDITION...SOUTHWEST WINDS 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH WILL PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW... AND NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AT TIMES.
and WC's temps are cold too = good snow not the SJ cement.
also from CAIC:
A buddy from the Valley said yesterday at WC "reminded him of his childhood days at Loveland" - 'nuf said for me. You know it's good.Quote:
Our highway forecaster on Wolf Creek Pass says it's snowing and blowing as hard as he has seen it.
Two problems:
Saturday is day one of the National migration of Texans on spring break to Southern Colo. = crowds of 4,000+ expected - thats a lot for that lil' hill.
and,
with that much snow I wonder how long it'll be before they close the pass... thats a long ass haul just to have to turn around & come up with plan B.
Come in from the east side thru South Fork... no worries about the pass. If it weren't so damn far for me, I'd be down there in a second.
Dude, let's carpool.Quote:

I was at Keystone today... not so hot. It dumped for about 20 minutes this morning, and I ended up leaving around 12:30. It was overcast when I left, but it looked like Copper/Vail/BC was getting the snow. I don't know if it'll be worthwhile tomorrow unless there's a decent dump tonight- but that's not really in the forecast. Otherwise, it'll be groomers-with-the-girlfriend day.
Funken- I would love to... but my parents are flying in tomorrow night so I have to be back here in Denver at a reasonable hour. Damn... if I knew it would be an easy drive, I'd be all over it. Damn damn damn.

Clear here... but I can't even see to Dillon
10 mil looked like it got hit all day long Breck and West might be good
With 40-60" of snow in the last four days, they might not be skiing at all.
Undisclosed locations at the Beav were skiing great today...snow on/off right now.
I couldn't find "Undisclosed locations" anywhere on that trail map for BC. That area sounds sweet, though.Quote:

Heading somewhere solo tomorrow.
We found a shaded spot in Summit today where a crust never formed during the heat wave. Got close to 2K of untracked boot top to knee deep goodness.
Two 3,500 ft cab runs on 18" of light fluff over domed over crust. Good coverage all the way to the valley floor.
Aspen is starting to get skied in, but still pretty firm underneath.
Tons of babes in town for HBO Comedy Fest.
Agreed, Y chute and a certain creek were nice. In other news, just booked a trip to Silverton, 52" in the last couple of days!!!!Quote:
