I know this is a stupid question - but what the heck is the powder eights? I see it on xtal's website annd I have seen similar stuff on other ski area's websites. It sounds like something straight out of an 80's teen skiing movie.

Nutcase- imagine perfect pow field and people, in pairs ala synchro-ski, coming down the mountain in a formation so that their tracks leave figure 8's.
At Crystal, this is pretty much an event only entered by the ski patrol. And yes...it fucking closes off atleast the Basin. BUT that leaves Avi Basin and front side of the King (plus sneaking into SE trees) as possibilities. I am not totally defeated yet.

Let me know if you guys decide to go to Crystal on Saturday I promised to buy him a beer since it turns out we grew up about five miles away from each other. Hoping to make Alpental on Sunday but beer there is far inferior than at Elk..

I'll be at Crystal Saturday skiing solo unless I hook up with someone. I'd like to meet up with someone for a North expedition to Brand X or further as I don't like getting too far out by myself. Of course, South would be good too... Anyone willing to let this jong tag along?

OOOOOOOH, MY PIMP CANE BITCH!!!! I will no longer hold Buster in the high esteem I do if he bails simply on the fact that another maggot gets hurt in the grand pursuit. I didn't quit skiing because Z-BO shattered his femur. You didn't quit because Tyrone wrecked himself. Nobody cares about phUnk. Anyhow, the point is that startroopers perserve, and Buster is really lightfooted, so he better be there. Otherwise, I will be liable for nothing. Including poaching terrain -- I blame Buster. He's my rock.

edit: Half the reason I came down was to ski with Buster. The other half was to ski with Zeedizzle, which has and will continue to be fulfilled tomorrow at Crystal. If Buster does not make it tomorrow (Friday), I will no longer be able to wish the old man a happy 80th birthday.
