I'm living vicariously through some of the folks here. I read almost all of them, don't comment on too many unless it's someone I personally know though just because "That Rocks!" or "FKNA" seem too trite to throw out 20 times a day.
Keep bringing them, ALL of them whether they are gnar Ohio hills or those blue groomers at Cham.
I like them too, I blame the emergence of inexpensive (relatively), light (relatively), compact (relatively), good (relatively) P&S digi cams. Before it took some serious effort to bust out a TR while it was still fresh in your mind...now you can just bust em out.
I for one really like it, even if I rarely put them up and they're never super crazy like some of them.
TR's here have been the highlight of my day till i can go skiing again, specially the LCC ones :yourock:
Agreed! The TR's here fill my life with mucho stoke. I don't care where it's coming from either. You guys are getting at it daily and sharing it with the rest of us who can't (at least right now). So thanks to you all!
Agreed on the radness. For those who don't think theire TRs are up to standard...there is no standard. I get a lot of enjoyment from the TRs of the flatlanders making their western pilgrimage and such. Honestly, with some of the crap we see, this board has a ton of room for all the TRs regardless of GNAR points, photo skills, location etc. What's cool about this board is getting a peak into what really fires people up. That feeling you get from going to a new place, meeting new people and accomplishing your goalis what I live for. This is what you see in the TRs. Too many people in this world have no passsions. It is what makes this place different.
Because of this place I go home and dream stoke, and when I'm working I breath and smell stoke and then I get ancy and buy a plane ticket to go live some stoke so that I can come back and share the stoke. Stoke the fire inside maggots and keep this place on fire!!
Agreed. It's not a competition. This isn't a magazine. I would love to see a Midwest TR from my home mountain(Pine Knob outside of Detroit), or any Midwest hill just to see what's going on. There's a lot of passion going on outside of the typical Alta, Euro, Kirkwood, AK, Jackson areas and it's cool to see the full spectrum of our sport.Quote:

There are so many on the board right now, it’s like a desk monkey’s paradise to be able to escape to the white room with a click of the mouse.
The quality has really been raised lately too. Also agreed that the stoke isn’t based on radness…it based on the passion the poster has for getting out there (bc/resort/whatever) and doing what they love. :biggrin:

TR's on this message board keep me sane while I'm sitting here in the office, watching it snow in the mountains. Until I take that rare day off during the week, I can only read these and imagine the fun these guys are having.
In addition, some of the sick pictures posted here inspire me to try things I wouldn't normally try, to jump off things I normally wouldn't consider, to ski lines I normally wouldn't even think of. Keep up the amazing work guys. We all know when we see TR in the title we're going to get some great stories and better shots.

These freakin TRs are keeping me alive, letting me know that some day I'll get off the manufacturing floor and out of the shipping lanes to git sum myself on the new 179s. Luckily, I got a dose of maggotude today by taking gincognito on a tour of the factory and allowing him to kick my ass in a 3 game rally of pool last night. We walked out of the hotel this am to an inch of ice coating everything in Kaybek. Met a bunch of skier chicas in the lobby who were bummed out cause all the ski areas are closed due to the ice storm. Great opportunity to get phone numbers for the next trip to Montreal.

Its hard to keep up with all the stoke flowing through TR's lately. Squirrel, did you quit your job? your churning out stoke like nobodys bidness. even the TRs w/out pics read better than a penthouse forum letter. like porn, amatuer photos are far more real and stimulating than glossy air brush magazine pages. keep the stoke train rollin!

Xover's verbal diarrhea TR's are always a fun read, and as of late have had excellent pictures as well.
Powstash is the king of the Dawn Patrol, no sleep, burn the candle at both ends, methhead TR's of obscure areas.
Iskibc is the multi-faceted, powder, hucking, and peak slaying TR's.
bcrider brings us the super smooth videos of his Cali posse.
Meats and posse bring the super hucks.
DTM and the HCAC bring us plenty of super hucking porn.
The Colorado crew brings us the pillow hucking, air taking, flippy-spinny TR's.
Ak Powder Monkey brings us funky high school nordic ski hucking freaks and aerial photography of mountains we all wish we had in our back yards.
Gramps posts the subtle slaying Tr's of the Wasatch.
Wy_split has the couloir Tr's of Jackson and Wyoming environs.
St8-Arty bring the "I'm in Alaska with my camp, and you're not (jealous)" TR's
We have Euro Tr's, East Cost early season pow TR's, Canadian TR's from LeeLau, and some other sleeper Canadians.
Ice climbing, rock climbing, biking, alpinism. Bring it all. I'd much rather read this at work than some political banter.
And TR's are a great way to meet like minded people. Whether your a meat hucking porn star, or some idiot who would rather do long traverses than ski laps.

To all the others who put them up - I LOVE seeing all the different places in the world.
btw mrs roo - I also love seeing TRs from women. They usually have a different style then the testosterone stuff guys put up.

Yesterday I was incredibly disappointed that some people chose to cunt up Bullet's first post of his Williamson TR. It had disappeared before I had the chance to respond and I PMed him to ask why he'd removed the thread.
There seemed to be two reasons.
1. A feeling that posting TRs was percieved as "Showing off."
2. Thread cunting.
Neither of those should be be acceptible by this group.
I've never viewed posting TRs as showing off. They're an expression of what people are doing and what they enjoy. Sure we get the "Look what I did" posts, but being justifiably proud of what you're doing and being willing to share your experiences with the board is a gift to the rest of us. I know it inspires me to get out and do more when I see how wonderful it is, and serves as a cautionary tale when things don't go as planned.
The thread cunting by alia has gotten out of hand. Yes, it's occasionally funny, but purposeless cunting just to try to be funny in a serious post is a serious stoke killer. It bugs the people that read the post and is offensive to those that are willing to share with us.
I missed Bullets post completely. Knowing what he was up to makes me really want to see the TR.
Bullet's old enough to have earned any showing off that he does. ;)
And many thread cunters would show off if they had anything worth sharing to offer up.

I'm constantly amazed by the quality of TRs/pics/vids/etc. posted on this board. It's the sole reason why I stick around this place. No other skiing/mountaineering board out there compares to the amount of stoke and talent coming from the maggots. I really like how each and every person brings something different to the table. Everyone has a different style, and they do it at a high level. Even the NSR TRs are fun to read. I love being able to slip into the minds and thoughts of everyone who posts up a TR. The energy and the passion flowing through these TRs is amazing. Nice work maggots and keep 'em coming.
I must say, I do miss Duph's TRs on this board. The guy had a way with words and emotions in his TRs.
This place has SERIOUSLY stepped up the quality this season. There is some absolute magazine quality shit nowadays from a number of people here. It seems like everyone who posted TR's last year has gotten a bigger, better camera. And they've stepped the skiing up too.:biggrin:

I also must say that I feel the increasing quality of the TR's coming out of all sections of the country and world is at least partly due to the synergy of mag interaction.
I skied with a bunch of the folks putting these TRs up starting alomost 6 years ago and the progression they have made in that time is mind boggling.
SKiing with, being inspired and pushed by other mags is huge.
I mean, Xover was never quite a gaper, but at least i used to be able to keep up with him.....
Commaraderie, excitement, pics, comedy, drama, success, failure, "I+1"...many have a wide range in each of them that just truly makes this board a must visit during any workday.
TRs that are always on my A list: bcr, trackhead, Iskibc, 666, bullet, xover...
I know my stuff isn't much (and definitely not the stoke extreme of many here), but when we get snow here in SoCal I try to add whatever I can with words an photos...so at least folks elsewhere can see we "do" have some sweet terrain here...
I agree with Bullet that if Nymph and Sandygal are lurking here, they need to start posting some of their photos...plus, on this site, we could ALWAYS use a few more lovely ladies who love to ride:biggrin:
