Opeth (iTunes link) has taken over my CD player, my iPod, and iTunes.
Cannot believe that I found this band so late.
No mistaking that it is metal, but it has some wild twists, and turns. First a satanic growl, then the singer sounds like the Moody Blues. All I gotta say is wow! "Ghost Reveries" is their new album, and if you do listen to iTunes samples, make sure you try the songs "Atonement" and the "Grand Conjuration" to see their full range. Lots of other good albums by this band. An earlier album "Blackwater Park" is incredible too.
