I ordered some of the cheap modevel from Amazon and they don’t fit very well, not enough taper from thigh to knee so they were tight on my quad but loose on the joint. What has a more athletic fit?
I’m not sure if Pfluffenmeister took these, but if not, I’d be interested.Quote:

Again, good to remind the body of the correct positioning and short term pain(from alignment)
“This systematic review found insufficient evidence to support the use of KT following musculoskeletal injury, although a perceived benefit cannot be discounted“

With the full caveat that I'm just an idiot with internet (and no medical training) and am entirely willing to admit I've read things wrong... to explain further, I based my comment in-part on this 2024 meta-analysis:

If the repositioning accuracy improvements result from a different method than static tape is a question above my pay grade.Quote:
All the between-group analysis revealed that both the elastic tape (no comparator: -0.40, placebo comparator: -1.13), and rigid tape (no comparator: -0.37, placebo comparator: -1.67) led to a significant improvement repositioning accuracy.
I got a couple pairs a few years ago because I had a good discount. They are decent long underwear but do very little for compression. They fit well under my ACL braces so I still use them. I use Ossur CTI braces on both knees and have no knee pain even though I recently found I don’t have an ACL anymore on my repaired right knee. I’m tempted to try those Donjoy’s off Amazon that Joey posted. They look maybe more comfortable, but I really don’t notice the CTIs until I get done skiing for the day. I generally wear them under track pants so I can remove the braces easily and then just have track pants to wear after skiing and shed the ski pants. After my experience without having an ACL currently and having 4 knee surgeries over the years, I highly recommend not having ACL surgery. Strength training and mobility work plus a brace is far better than losing a year to recovery especially since a repaired knee can easily fail anyway. I don’t use a brace for any other sport.
Quick update. Nothing seemed to be working compression-wise, so yesterday I tried the Genutrain S which has rigid plastic stabilizers on the sides. That worked--relieved most of the pain by keeping everything in line. MRI in a couple weeks to see if there is anything significant that can be addressed (meniscus, tears, etc), then perhaps some HA shots. It's a journey...
^^ thanks for bumping this miles, just read through all the suggestions and I may give the Genutrain A3 a shot
I tried the regular Genutrain and then the A3 version. Didn't seem too different to me, but ymmv. Good luck!
I agree.I tried both and kept the genutrain, I didnt feel much difference in the A3 to justify its almost double cost.
There's a bunch of them as you know, you talking about the $99 one?
Yes. Supposedly there is some extra "arthritis" pad in the A3, but I didn't notice it being any better than the regular Genutrain (same as Tony911).
thanks mang, gonna use my HSA card but no need to waste a hundo
