Hey NE thread! Been a while :/
Anyone got any suggestions they'd be willing to share re: Mt. Greylock trails? PM if better than post, but I'm dead curious to see what's going on down there and plan to check it out asap.
Rock- biggs
Thanks… I had Carl Strong in Bozeman build it for me. It’s pretty much a modern copy of my old Bridgestone XO-1 that I rode into the ground over the years. Same angles and dimensions but modern steel tubing and disc brakes. I salvaged the old head badge and moved it over to the new one…

Grant Petersen rules.
Glitchy TGR—I’ll be around MRV with my mountain bike tomorrow through at least Friday if anyone wants to ride.
How did we get to mid-August with only two pages in this thread.
Looking at a September stay at the Stable Inn in Rochester, VT. Does that put us in a good spot for a couple days of trail riding?
Another shitty weather summer. If it’s not raining it’s been 90 degrees and 100% humidity.
And yes, Rochester puts you in proximity to a bunch of good riding. Lots right around town and north and south on 100 as well. What type of riding are you interested in? I’m sure people can steer you to what you’d like. Doon at Green Mountain Bikes is a great resource as well.
Rochester is the center of the best riding in the state (imo). Lots of great teails in town, even more within a short drive. Also ways to comnect various trail systems if you want an epic day/days.

Looking for good singletrack, even an all day epic. The GF will ride pretty much anything at KT outside of Sidewinder, it just freaks her out.
Most of the on map stuff that I have ridden is super buff. Also some off the map stuff that is more old school and links up with new school flow. Lepesquer and daughters makes great trails.

Just did the Chittendon Brooke Velomont loop the other weekend! PM if you have questions. Would and wouldnt recommend!
Any mags biking the Overland on Saturday?
The Rochester riding is very nice, hardly any mud to be found other than the logging roads connecting the Swans. Out and back from the Ranger station to Swan Dive is 28 miles and about 5k climb, lots of switchbacks. A shorter loop would be Tunnel Ridge to the Swans end at Bingo Brook, climb back up Swan Dive and take Wing Farm Rd to 73>100 back to town. A day could be spent as well on the East side going up Sap Boiler riding up, down and around.
Pittsfield is a great mix of older machine work that have matured into a single track and new hand cut trails, plenty of riding for a day.
Sherburne trails are also close to get another ride in, lots of recent work on the shop loop and the Kent pond trails off the 100 lot.

Sunset getting earlier and earlier… gonna have to start bringing a headlight soon.
Ended up in Rochester last week on a mini road trip, rode from Doon’s shop over to the Ranger station, sap boiler/old gents and back to town. We haven’t been riding much this year so that was a solid enough ride. Next day was up at Blueberry State Park and a little MRV hangtime. After that looped it up to Gorham, NH on the way back to Maine to visit Jason at Big Day Brewing, hit up Bethel next day on the way back to Portland.

If you ever make it back to Rochester there is a loop that goes up and all the way around town. I did it a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. The trails are lightly traveled on the east side of the loop and it is a little tricky to find where the trail picks up after some of the road crossings, but it is a good time.Attachment 499880

I could have used some squish on this drop. I burped a good 10psi out of the rear tire. [emoji54]

I'll keep an eye out for y'all. Look for a bleary-eyed, red bearded dude in a safety vest :).
And best of luck to all racers!!
Any NE mags interested in some Dakine knee pads? Size Xl. A friend gave them to me. I tried them on and realized they are too big.

NE peeps, if you had two days to ride within 3 hours of North Conway, where would you go? Already been to Kingdom Trails/Burke several times.
There's a 2025 NE thread but whatever. If you want to get out and explore the area:
1.Hurricane mountain in north Conway
2.Drive over pinkham notch for a day at moose Brook State Park. Coos trails and then Gorham trails. Beer and food at big day brewing afterwards
3. Bethlehem, park at reklis and ride the trails over to Mt Agassiz. Shoulder roll is great. Beer and food after at reklis.
4. Franconia area is great, my local area. Littleton has great beer and food options. Freehouse.
Trailforks will guide you
If you want to make your way over to the Portland area there is good riding to be had at Blackstrap and East Windham Conservation Area. Smaller hills than NH but quite fun. Shoot me a PM if you want trail recs.
