kendrick is a critics pick. you put on his albums once because they’re “interesting” and you want to be informed.
drake you never put on because it’s on other people’s car stereos so in the end end you know every hit. but it’s entertaining enough and eventually familiar as part of the cultural zeitgeist.

I don’t think anyone would ever put Drake in the same sentence as those artists when it comes to the lyricism - Kendrick for sure belongs in that conversation.
Drake is a great rapper, a massive hit-maker, and a decent lyricist - but he doesn’t get super complicated with his lyrics nor does he get creative with his delivery.
He is in the top 3 of biggest artists of the last decade (with Taylor Swift and Beyoncé) but he wouldnt even make the top 50 list of best rap lyricists in my opinion.
