Thanks for the intel. I’ll be curious to hear more and consider grabbing a pair.

Glad I got in on them before they are gone.
2023 fx106ti’s arrived yesterday with a compressed edge.

I called the shop and they were super cool and apologetic, great customer service. Now they are sending me the 2024’s for no extra charge after I send back the damaged ones.
^^^^
That's both fucked up and awesome at the same time.
And if it turns out to be a ski you love, then with any luck, they'll be on closeout at the end of next season due to changes in construction...
This is the way.
The red tipped MX98 is the best Kastle yet. If you find a pair, grab them quick. There is a reason on a spring day you’ll see 10+ pairs on the JH tram at once, even though it’s nearly a 10 year old ski at this point. People are hoarding pairs for a reason.
The BMX115 is an awesome pow ski. Just predictable and smooth for a more directional ski.
Was not a fan of the grey/green 106, or grey/red 96.

These 2024’s are in near perfect condition for demos. 9.5/10
Now I just have to stare at them for a couple more months.

What is everyone’s take on the MX88?
MX98s have such a cult following....are the 88s a true little brother?
And did Kastle significantly change the build over the years like they did with the 98?
(‘12 88s have a white X, ‘13/14s have a black X, ‘15 have an orange X I believe)
Dunno about versions, but I had 178 MX88s (prolly 2016 version; I’m about 6’1”, 170 lbs) and they were fantastic frontside skis. Rock solid but easy to release. They felt a touch short for me - maybe a 181-182 would have been a better size if it were available, but in the end I semi-regret passing the 178s to a friend.

Not positive but I think the MX88 stayed the same under the hood until the MX89 replaced it. It was the flagship of the brand.
anyone found a good replacement for their BMX105HP?
my favorite daily driver is getting a bit long in the tooth.
tried the FX106Ti and just wasn't feeling it.
Stance 102, Corvus, Sender Free and K108 all seem like they could fit the bill
I believe the Heritage Lab FL105 may have partly been inspired by the BMX105HP shape.

Thanks for the cochise, forgot those existed haha.
i was mistaken, i demo'd the 96Ti. It just sorta felt dead to me. Didn't get the super damp yet lively feel of the BMX105.
I'll have to try to get on some 106Ti's this season.
Gonna be tough between the FX106Ti, K108, Wren108Ti, Cochise, FL105, Corvus and Sender.
Sounds like the Stance 102 got neutered based on the Stance thread so that's out.
Had some luck selling off some skis. So what do you do with ski selling money?..buy more skis of course.

I had been lusting over FX 106 Ti and finally pulled the trigger. These will replace the BMX 105 HP which are a fabulous ski, and still in great shape if anyone is interested. Initial out of the wrapper feel is a lighter feeling lay-up. Fairly stiff underfoot and tail with a softer tip. Not really any tip rocker even when de-cambered. Mount point seems right on and matches up exactly with the M102 191cm rearward mark. Bases seem a little dry and will need some wax. One thing I did notice is they no longer sport the made in Austria/wings symbol, but now say "Austrian Technology". A little google search showed that Kastle, maybe only some models?? are now being made in the Czech Republic, not that it matters. Just a little surprised. Can't wait to give these ago after reading some reviews.
How much are you asking? They are 189cm?

Put these on snow today for the first time.
Pea soup visibility and low tide crowded icy groomers, no off piste options. absolute shit conditions.
When I plopped them down on the snow to click in the “thud” sounded like slamming a heavy German luxury car door. Boner.
They seemed to almost rail better than my 191 Enforcer 100’s which I wasn’t expecting. These things are beasts and need/want to be aggressively skied. Perfect.
Today felt like trying to drive a Ferrari in rush hour traffic.
Can’t wait to open these fuckers up in their habitat.
$50 for some FX 104’s.

Not sure if link will work. I’m dumb
Recently got some zx108s for almost nothing. Anyone mount these in front of the gen z line? I was thinking of going +1 from gen z line.

Had my first outing on my FX 106 Ti's. I wish I could say they were magic skis on day 1, but that was not the case. I didn't do anything after mounting, but I did have a stone in my pocket for tip and tail detuning work as needed. First run was like holy shit are these grabby. Some tip and tail detuning twice during the outing helped some, but the skis still wanted to take me for a ride, which is pretty scary when your not in control.
I've owned a lot of skis and have only ever had a bad factory tune once. I have the older Stormrider 95, green/black/white graphic that was base high and had the same feeling that I was going to break a leg or bust a knee skiing them. Those I had ground and then set to a 1 and 2 degree edge which was the ticket. Probably do the same with these as I don't want to fuk them up.
Anyway, end of blog! Looking forward to better days on these.
stocklis come from the factory edge high in the tips. It is crucial to their feeling. If it were base high elsewhere, that would be interesting and usually doesn’t make one feel like they will blow a knee.
All the atomic demos at our retailer demo last year were edge high. It was sketchy as can be.
I had a shit factory tune on new planks once and making it down the hill freaked me out a little. Impossible to turn, super squirrelly, had to put everything I had on the shovel to get home safe.
My FX106’s seem fine but they were used demos so probably tuned at some point.
Just picked up some ~10 year old 183 MX83s for dirt cheap off Marketplace. I had my first groomer laps on them this morning. Nice skis. They hold a carve but still have a light snap that makes them feel lively and versatile.
My favorite ski for periods of high pressure and ripping groomers.

I’m starting to really love these 192 fx106. I brought my Enforcer 100’s with me and planned to swap skis to compare them so I could then decide if I want to sell or not. I was having too much fun and never took the Kastle’s off. I’ll be putting the Enforcer’s up for sale, can’t justify having a 100 and a 106.
I have this ski and I love it. I'm mounted on the "old man's" line and it feels pretty good. Skiing the 184 and I'm 5'11". The genZ line looks to be at least 2 to 3cm forward of that (from memory and not actually looking at my skis). If you went +1 of that line, seems like it would put you close to the midline of the ski and I'm not sure this ski is built for that (huge guess here). It's not super rockered - subtle rise in front and a bit in back.
Ha. Nice to know there’s someone out there with good taste.
The Trigger S Leki gloves are awesome with the Spitfire poles.

Anybody spend much time on the BMX118?
I’m looking at mounting a pair, recommended line is -14?! So I’m thinking of mounting at +2.
Is there anyone out there with BMX wisdom?
Loving these. Sold the Enforcers last night.

Any comments on mounting point for the TX103? On the line I feel way over my tips on those using a stock C-Raider. The ramp delta might also be contributing.
looking for some BMX 115's in 193cm if anybody is still holding.
I own(ed) the zx100, bmx105, and zx 108. Figured i'd give a sentence or two about each ski to appease the Kastle gods and hopefully drum up a pair of bmx 115's.
-ZX100 has a bit more camber than the others, but skis very predictably mounted at the Gen Z line. Light. No metal. This ski is my touring setup. Wish I got them out in the resort more because they are super fun, but pin bindings.
-BMX 105 (non HP). Dream ski. fun rockies daily driver. Mounted on recommened line. Surprisingly light. Punches above it's weight in deeper snow. Can slarve or lay rails, but likes to go fast in all conditions.. Wish i found an HP version, life didn't work out that way.
-ZX108 was a damp charger mounted on the traditional line. Catch and release with a bmx 105 quiver overlap. Saw the guy i sold them to in the lift line. He loves them. Would have mounted on Gen Z line if i kept them.
