Best 110-112 mm underfoot skis out there?

Wildcat / Wildcat 108. The former is heavier and stiffer - it's better in chop but not exactly a ski I'd ride if it isn't snowing or just snowed.

I would be surprised if anyone that likes the Line SFB likes a Moment too, they're very different. The SFB is the softest ski I have ever personally been on - it's surfy for sure, but I found it to be outgunned as soon as the snow got tracked out. It's like an untracked ski design in a width that makes more sense for daily driving. Anyways, if you're in Truckee it might be worth demoing a WC108.

I'm 6' and 200lbs, so I wouldn't call the R11 very stiff or chargy in the traditional sense of the word. Not with that much tail rocker. It's a little scary on ice. Part of that was me redoing the edges 1 and 1 not 2 and 1 after a nice stripey stone grind. Maybe I even over beveled it a little, but I don't regret it.

Bringing this back to life again. I have a pair of 2014 179cm Shreditor 112s that I love, and I am looking to replace them (I want to give them to my son, he fell in love with them also, over his Mindbender 116c). I am looking at the Reckoner 112 or the Rustler R11. I hear so much good about the R11s, but I am worried they might not be as easy to turn in the pow, especially the trees. I picked up the Shreditors used last year, in very good shape. They have become my favorite (pow) ski by far.

The 2023 R11s also get a bonus for being on a great sale currently, but I want something that isn't going to have me wishing I still had the Shreditors.

I have skied his Mindbenders, and they don't do what the Shreditor does for me. Everything is just effortless, they go where I want them to without thinking about it, or even have to put much effort in. If I could clone them, I would ski them forever.

PS did the OP ever make a decision?

There are a ton of killer skis around that range, not so many in it. Revolt 114 comes to mind. The rustler 11 you can’t go wrong with or the HL 110. But staying in a 2mm waist range is ridiculous. Anima is worth a look.

I know you said powder skis, but apparently we don’t have the same definition. I love my 122mm for powder, but as soon as it’s tracked I’m reaching for something like my Bodacious or a Corvus depending on location and snow type.

My powder skis for over a decade have been the Line Opus (118 under foot), but I like these so much more, the fact they don't float quite as well, doesn't bother me.

well that could be your problem, a mediocre powder ski to start with.

Light and playful 110-12, j skis slacker, Dps wailer 112 (never skied it and probably never will), qst blank, bc 110 come to mind.

Deathwish. Newer construction with the Popular and Ash core is just so dialed

FR110. Most fun, though capable of serious things , ski out there. Bear in mind, I've skied exactly zero of their contemporaries outside of what Marshal has on tap.

Maybe... But it isn't necessarily all about "maximum float".

It's all relative, I am ~165lbs, someone who is 180-190lb will float about the same on 122s as I do on 112s.


Anyway, I picked up 2 pair of Rustler 11s. A 172cm pair for my youngest child, and a 180 cm pair for myself.

I’ve been looking for a replacement for 2014 179 Shreditor 112s since 2015 lol. Cant quite find a similar feel. I’m heavier now and would need a 184cm.

I didn’t try the 184 Reckoner 112s, I just thought the much lighter weight and stiffer flex would produce a very different feel. I heard good things about them though, and similar things with Moment Deathwish.

For stupid fun skis, I’m intrigued by the new Reckoner 110, as well as Bacon 108/115.

sounds like Karl Fostvedt's new pro model with K2 could be what you are after.

R11s are dead easy to ski, quite loose and great skis as well. The new iteration improves on the former with its tweaks in construction imho.

I was really impressed with the Mfree 108 in a 182 and the billy goat 110 Two of my favorites last season

I tried the 193 FR110 and I loved almost everything about them. Great skis. Only thing is I felt the tails a bit more than I like, and I was mounted -2 from recommended. They didn't actually get in the way, but the sensations was noticeable in the back of my mind. I enjoy progressive mounts and also centered mounts, but on significantly shorter skis. Could be something I could get used to because the skis were still very intuitive and maneuverable in tight spots.

Or maybe the R110 would solve this issue. Similar ski, just more directional?

I'm very happy with the Countach 110. Bought it, and I'd buy it again. Although, like said above, there's a lot of great skis out there, and I'd probaly be happy with most of them.

Having flexed but not skied a Reckoner 110, I have to think that ski would be a blast in fresh snow. Personally I find the Deathwish super fun in soft snow, too. It pivots and floats really well.

I have the HL AM110 coming. I am also contemplating a Countach as a lighter alternative. One can never have too many skis.

I ski the Countach at -1 from rec. Could not be happier with them there

I should add that the Deathwish is quite a bit stiffer than the Reckoner.
