The biggest difference between the Hyper-charger and Hyper-manti is the mount point. Manti is a much more progressive mount.

I'm skiing regular Manti in 186 at -2cm, really liking them. I'm 6'1", 170. Have a pr. of Hyper Manti 185 waiting for bindings, still trying to decide where to put them. I also have Hyper Charger 185 installed on the line. Really like that ski and binding location. Might just mount the Hyper Manti about where the Charger is, knowing there would be plenty of room to move it without hole conflict. I know they are different profiles but for mostly soft snow it might be nice. Agreed on the tails of the Hyper Charger- they are indeed "hard working" as Voile says. I detuned the tails more, which helped some. If I can get the Hyper Manti sorted, I'm also thinking of selling the HChargers.
good tips for the fish scale crew here

Recently got a pair of 181 Hyper-Mantis, mounted them on the Voile recommended line w/some G3 Ions. Mount point is more progressive than past Voiles I've had (Insane, Charger, Hyper Charger), and it felt spot on.
Today was my first day on them and I really enjoyed them. We did a classic tour in the San Juans that involved skiing off a peak just under 13k- top was rock-hard wind compacted, followed by wind buffed old powder into variable steep choked terrain. The exit was consistent pow that came in up-side-down followed by more consistent pow. Then toured up to another ridgeline and dropped another shot into steep north-facing pow...
Long story short, in today's tour we skied 5-6 different kinds of snow in challenging terrain and the Mantis were great. I put a 1 degree base bevel on them. They felt similar to my old Chargers, except 2 lbs lighter!Attachment 404942Attachment 404943Attachment 404944Attachment 404945
My Charger BCs came in awfully handy on Saturday when the skin track back out to the trailhead had a slight uphill. Most everyone else either booted through the deep new snow or stopped to put in skins. With the fishscales, I zipped right up.
Man, these things are fun. Hyper V6 BC. Mostly touring today, with a few little pitches.

Picked up a pair of 185 Hyperchargers in December. Always been voile-curious, but never skied one until I got these. My intent was to drop some weight from my wider touring setup; which it did: 200g per ski less.
Mounted on the recommended line with vipecs. I've toured about 10 days on them and skied in the resort a few times to get the hang of them.
On the uptrack: really feel the reduced weight. No issues on kick turns.
Heading down: 2 words - great ski! Powder turns are a dream, 10/10. All other backcountry snow types are 7/10 or better. They have the power to ski anything pretty well. Very easy to turn, but not a flippy, turny ski. Pretty traditional feel in general, but with a slight modern twist. Only thing I would say negative is tight trees are a challenge (probably due to pilot), and once in a while I feel the mount is maybe 1cm too far back. Really amazing how well they handle all conditions for what they weigh.
They ski in the resort pretty well for their weight. Might pick up a supercharger (same shape, heavier construction) for a 50/50 resort ski.
Construction seems top notch.

I have a 5 or so year old pair of the V6 in 183 that are moderately beat if anyone wants them. A few core shots that I fixed at home thar look like shit. I earned a new core shot earlier this season at the inside boot edge, but the metal is straight and without bindings, it can be an outside edge. One of the tails is splitting. Epoxy and a clamp helped for two seasons, but it needs another treatment. Recently mounted with axls at +1 after I jacked up the mount at boot center. Free for local pick up (Denver or Winter Park) and this is preferred, but I’ll ship them if you pay in advance.
My favorite all around ski ever. Half and half touring and resort. Not great on ice or at high speed, but I like them so much for powder, bumps, trees, variable snow and groomers that I bought the same ski to replace it.
Glad to see the thread getting some love.
I've been enjoying the Hyperchargers. They feel just like the Supers, just lighter. I'm just used to how these ski. I did a tour recently where we skied some frozen crust but mostly powder, and I was happy with the edge grip. I changed the base bevel to 1.5 outside the camber contact points (standard bevels are 1 & 1 on all Voiles) to keep them from hooking up. In past I would have detuned, but now I have a base bevel guide and I think this is the way to go. They are mounted on the line with Marker Alpinists, and the main adjustment I've had to do is getting used to the flat ramp.
Early season I grazed a couple rocks with the new skis... wasn't happy about it, but I didn't sustain any major damage. These feel about as durable as the Supers. Those I did some really hard rock hits and dented the edges, although I was able to fill the gaps with epoxy and prevent any further delam.
Love voile. Got a Mojo splitboard many years back, still functional, since then many bindings and skis that are still in the quiver. Presently V6 BC’s are the best skis I’ve ever had. My go to’s for any condition, but will still bust out the original drifters when it’s just too light and deep for anything else.
They seem to have really dialed in that sweet balance between sidecut, rocker, length and whatever other sorcery they mix in to make a ski just want to turn and float just by thinking about it.
I am dying to get my hands on a pair of Ultravectors for east-coast resort skinning and occasional backcountry. Anyone know if there are any deals out there in the wild? I'll pay full price if I must, but I reaaally don't want to.
Another voile fan here. Have a pair of Hyperchargers and a pair of 8 year old Vectors. The hypers are incredibly light yet ski pretty damn well. I mostly use them for low angle pow but have had great days in every kind of condition on them, including banging out inbounds laps on highlands bowl. That said, I've fallen back in love with my old Vectors- I prefer the larger radius and the 180 length is bit better all around than the 185 hyper length. The 96 waist vector performs so well in any kind of 3d snow- amazing for how narrow it is. Wish they still made that shape- I feel like the new skis such as the hypercharger have more sidecut than ideal.
NT, I feel the same way about the OG Vector. It's been my favorite BC ski over the last 10 years or so, for the reasons you stated.
Agreed on the OG Vectors, wish I'd never sold my 180's. The Ultra Vectors are good too, but yeah, a bit too much side cut/tail too wide. Loving my Hyper Manti's.
My ten plus year old BC Chargers are great to have for neighborhood slogs and Nordic track packing…..and every once in a while they get to do a 3 1/2 mile lap to play in some powder like today:

My V8s got ‘appropriated’ by my son. They surf and turn so easy in powder, it’s almost cheating. Super fun.
Edit: back door to top and over. Combo of scales and skinning.

I think loads of people will agree with that the old shapes had a better sidecut profile. The current supercharger shape wants to hook up into a turn way to easily. I love the way they float in powder but as soon as the snow gets firm or weird the short radius just wants to engage. Not bad if you have the legs to make 1 million turns, but I am a lazy tele skier. I found the OG vectors to be a bit soft, even for a BC ski, and the increased rocker of the newer shapes definitely helps in the surf department. I think the new flex/rocker combined with the old turn radii would be absolutely killer.
New design from Voile - the Charger Ace. Looks like they're moving to a hybrid sidewall construction, incorporating tail clip notches, and "modernizing" the graphics. Overall, looks like a big step forward!

Cool to see them making updates but $950 for a Voile is insanity. They have no business charging more than Moment, On3p, etc
But isn't that price point still way cheaper than a Hagan, Dynafit, Movement, other Euro or skimo-centric brand? I never buy new skis so it's not super relevant to me but I love my Voiles. Would love to try the Hypercharger some day to save some weight off circa 2012 Chargers.
Still need to mount up my 190 Drifters for low angle pow farming (MASSIVE tips!) but the 181 Chargers worked so damn well this past season I never felt the need. But if we get some rare deep blower that sticks around for more than one morning I bet they are incredible.
I'm going to be selling my 180 Vectors with Meidjo bindings this Fall. I'm thinking somewhere around $500 plus shipping. Feel free to PM me if you have any interest.
I just noticed the Ace model. Tail indent is definitely a long time coming, but I guess it makes for a more complicated ski to build. I would be curious if the sidewalls actually help with grip on firm snow. We skied the hanging glacier on Mt Shuksan last season and rode through an slightly icy, exposed section. I had no problem with edge grip there on the Hyperchargers. I do think the camber makes them a little hooky in breakable crust situations.
I think it is the sidecut more than the camber personally. For a 106mm ski, a 140 tip is pretty huge. I skied my regular superchargers for years but they were just a bit hooky in certain situations so I finally moved on. So fantastically durable, reliable and great in soft snow. They ripped a groomer pretty well before, but friends who have skied the ace have good things to say!

Picked these up from the voile discount room. Prototype reverse/reverse skis. One of two pairs made, at least a decade old. 193cm, 139mm underfoot. Weigh in at 2100g/ski. Truly zero sidecut, they are a straight 139mm in between the two pieces of masking tape. There is a short flat section underfoot towards the tail. Seems like they shouldn't be too unreasonable. Can't wait to get them mounted up. It is interesting to see such a wild shape from a generally pretty conservative company.
new V8 for me this winter

my V6 BC have been awesome for meadow skipping and forest beatering

ok so these things just kick ass

Are those V8s or Hyper V8s? I wish they'd make a hyper V7. Like 108 under foot, plenty of tip and tail rocker, minimal camber. Kind of a gap in their lineup in my opinion. The Charger is something different, less rocker, less playful shape
standard V8
super fun in today’s wet pow with a zipper rain crust
I love this ski
I think they need a V8 in a 156cm - but make it more like 110 underfoot
It's possible a HyperManti might work. A bit narrower at 104 in a 181, though. It's kind of a combo of a charger and V-series.
I'm pretty happy with this ski and I really like the mash-up, as I thought the hyperCharger was too stiff in the tail and not very playful in low-angle or tight terrain.
Voile!

Yeah I've thought about the Hyper Manti. Do be honest not really sure what the difference is between the Manti and V6/8 expect the dimensions. But the Manti is a bit narrower than I'd prefer
Voile had a video / social media post explaining the difference

A Manti Ace BC would be an instant buy.
I’ve loved Charger BC and Supercharger BCs in my terrain for their ability to handle when things get weird, but I’d like for the tail to be a little faster in the trees which is what the Manti seems to be offering.
I have a customer who has recently bought an Endeavor and an Endeavor BC - he liked the BC so much that he bought the standard version
both mounted with TTS Transit bindings
he also just got a new Scarpa TX Pro that he seems to be happy with
viva Voile!
Voile is sick. My wife loves her hyper V8s, and my hyperchargers and superchargers continue to shred. Great surface:weight ratio in the hyper line. Only issue I've found was some stripped screws in the hyperchargers due to the soft core. I also wish they had a tail skin clip indentation to keep these things from falling off. I think I will try dremeling one in.
A Vector BC or V6 BC has been on my buy list for a long time for dicking around with a set of light boots and race bindings. One of these years.
