We will be really close to all dirt after today just in time for spring ahead. Frozen dirt is pretty darn fun to ride and building can commence before the bugs launch.
Just bought a backup chain

+3 flatten that berm, go trim some branches
Thanx baby bear :)
Yeah for me it's not about eliminating the berms it's about flattening them, it's about reducing them from the silliness it has become.
edited for punctuation
It should read, Flatten that Berm, why is, that, spelled with a capital t? And it should be, the, actually. As in Flatten the Curve, the fuck?
I didn’t realize you’re leaving from Montpelier, I’m leaving from Middlesex and usually cut out Montpelier entirely. This route is also really dirt and gravel heavy so I won’t be trying it out again until mid-April at the earliest when the dirt roads dry out. This particular ride was from last fall.

If this was the DNC forum this thread would be, "Flatten the Bern".
Pretty much snow free. This section had the most. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a18c0ac435.jpg
I was actually in southern New Hampshire this weekend and meant to reach out. It seems most areas are free and clear with dry weather this weekend (and 50 on Sunday). Has anyone ridden Clyde Pond?
Yeah man, you should have!
I've never been down to Clyde.
Heavy winds again probably brought more stuff down.
Spent too much time farting around with this yesterday after the ride. And it kinda sucks [emoji846] The sharky boulder on the right it too sketchy.

That bots thread in the PR is sounding pretty negative on the longevity of this place. Are you guys in the Fb group The Powder Zone? If you use Fb you should join so we don't lose the NE role call.
Snowmelt, rain and lotsa wind has made the trails a real mess. I'm going to try to carve out a few hours this weekend to go do some maintenance, hopefully I can make it happen.

Yeah, my local spot is definitely not ready. Did a quick half hour spin with a bunch of walking around the soft spots.
So a local guy has a couple of these things and they've been riding our trails lately. The area does not allow motor vehicles. It's kind of a bummer as they're rutting stuff up. I'm all for fun and I am an old motocross guy, but these are a bit much for the specific mtn bike trails we built.
These are probably pretty fun in the right place!

A state park I used to ride when I lived in Boston just got torn to shreds by a group of e-dirt bikes just like the one you linked. A few dudes just shamelessly rode them all over the park while it was soaking wet. Makes you wonder why they thought that was okay.
Meanwhile, my sciatic nerve back injury is becoming less fucked every day. Stoked to at least grind some gravel next week if the weekend isn't a total flood.
That thing has absolutely no business being on publicly maintained MTB trails. Period. I am constantly amazed by what people rationalize as acceptable behavior/practices on a public good. Its bad enough that people regularly ignore trail closures, but that is just way over the line.
Are the berms getting flattened by the emoto?;)
Mrs P on drop bars and knobby tires.

Ha!
We have a few berms out there and they hit them completely wrong! Up too high and blowing them out. That's pissing people off. I built 95% of this network, but I hardly ever ride out there anymore because it's turned into such a junkshow due to multiple reasons, but especially because some wackjob has painted every trail with huge colored arrows on trees, boulders, roots. I've posted some pics in here previously of that shit. It is my ride "out the door" spot. It's pretty fun, but we have much better options down the road so I opt for that instead.
Have a kids spring break “ski” trip scheduled for Gore next weekend Apr2-4. Wondering if I should bring bikes as well given current weather. Any idea if trails up there are even remotely rideable yet? Any resources I could check? Briefly looked at trail forks and last update was from November.

It’s the height of mud season. Road bikes only for the foreseeable future
The trails at Gore (or technically the North Creek ski bowl) will not be ready by then. But if next week is warm-ish and dry-ish, there will be stuff ready to go down here in Saratoga and also maybe halfway between in Queensbury/Glens Falls. Maybe not the best stuff, but something. Feel free to shoot me a PM for more info when it gets closer.
Thanks guys, figured as much and will wait and see how weather works out. So much for longer winter, spring hit HARD. It’s going to be 81* here today and super windy, so at least be riding down here in PA
