Anybody had an issue with this beacon where it WONT shut off?
Got one like a month ago and everything seemed fine while playing with it, picked it up today and turned it on and now it won't turn off unless you remove a battery. Switch isn't stuck or anything, after putting the battery back it stays off until switched on again.
Hasn't even been outside yet.
that’s a new one on me

I have several F1 and even an old F2 that I use for practice beacons (although we are starting to rotate modern digital beacons out for new). For shits and giggles, I'll take the F2 and try finding 2 or 3 buried F2's and my current Pieps Pro. In straight forward burials, I am still comparably fast using that old analog. And there was something to be said for activating the unit by attaching the harness, search with a simple dial with a working lock function. No software updates that might affect performance. I do love several of the advanced features and search distance of my Pro, but a part of me wish to have a 3 antenna base digital version of those old F1 beacons.
Thanks!

yeah man
I got beacons on my mind
Ooh reminds me I gotta see if customer service can help me. Local shop couldn’t flash the upgrade and said I needed to get with the vendor.
Just received my Mammut Barryvox in the mail this evening and one thing I noticed is how easily the battery door opens. I can slide it open with minimal pressure using my thumb in the same hand I'm holding it with. Is this common with the device? Not sure if I should reach out. Seems strange that there wouldn't be some form of locking mechanism.
Here is a video I took: https://streamable.com/5tpjpz

havent had that issue with my newish Bvox battery hatch,
however, i disagree with the OP:
i think the hatch is poorly designed
and needs a secure locking mechanism
YMMV
.
I read someone that pointed out that potential issue in relation to the BD struggles. My solution was a piece of Gorilla tape. Easy enough to redo when it comes time for new batteries. It's probably over thinking things but I carry my beacon in my pants pocket so maybe that door popping open would be more likely?

right back where i started with my DSP sport

Not that issue specifically but I just bought one and discovered that it can be switched off from the Send position by wiggling the switch slightly. In contact w/ customer service now.
Anyone ever see that? Seems like their switch/power-mechanism isn't as bombproof as one would hope (even in comparison to Pieps and Tracker, give their switch issues).
I haven’t seen this with mine or any of my friends’.
Reach out to Mammut.
