This spring I mounted an NRS highback swivel seat on my drybox so my wife would be more comfortable. It's great. I suppose I'll replace my rowing seat eventually with a highback although it's never bothered me as is, and it's easier to climb over when moving around. Those seats aren't cheap.

i have a range of frame bars and can configure to seat and fish front and back with or without flooring 4 or 5 bay
best monies was the bar mounted flip seat and a draining highback seat

so much better than mounting a seat onto the dry box that just interfers with fully opening the dry box and way better rowing and comfort for my old man ass than sitting flat on a padded cooler or drybox
works on a cooler or dry box although my yeti 105 is too tall unless i wanted to go 12" towers
it usually goes up front but a 45 or bigger will do for day trips or an overnighter with another beverage cooler im limited to 32" without side rubbing
a foot bar, 2 dre captains bags alongside the rowers seat on a 26" 14"x18" fp drybox
a 14" bay behind that with a ammo can slings and/or a water jug sling
to an everything/santa bag strapped to the rear frame
and the anchor mount off that
decking to walk and strap ammo cans to
if theres fishin involved a mag rotomolded the lockable front rod case with pvc tubes
that will unbolt if not needed
need to replace the bimini top that got chundered in a flip
and id like to go with modified ammo cans for more waterproof space on a suspended floor vrs the captains bags although pelicans in the bags gits it done
rubbers bout toast will probably go 14' next year but frame should still work

The bar-mount seat didn't really work for me although I considered it. I actually don't mind having the seat mounted on the dry box, it still opens 90 degrees which is plenty, and it actually makes opening the lid much easier because the weight of the seatback makes it almost automatic. I'm happy with it and my wife no longer says "everybody on the river has a seat but me." lol
I can run a boat in Class 2
I can also get into trouble

Metal dry box question:
Has anyone ever tried using any sort of spacer underneath the tabs a metal dry box hangs on to raise it up a little more? I would like to be able to experiement with mine in the realm of 0.5"-1.5" before possible having them re-welded.
I was thinking maybe 3/4" marine plywood or even 3d printing possibly?

Buy a cheap cutting board.
I use adjustable NRS straps to hang mine. I keep it about an inch off the floor.
1" (or 1/2 or 3/4) square tube aluminum stock cut in 3" sections. Or plastic cutting board.
