I... may actually be able to make a BBI this time around.
The Valentines Day thing might be a little tricky, but the GF has yet to ski in Washington, and has been begging for a chance to visit the state. A day trip to Alpental may be the icing on the cake to sell it. She ain't a mag, but would that be overstepping to have her along at BBI for a run or two?
But damn, hard to choose that vs. Solitude, as I've been wanting to ski it since I missed my chance last spring. It's tough admiring the beauty of the Wasatch range when blowing it out both ends in the sanctity of your friend's bathroom. Screw you, norovirus.
I treat the wife like everyday is feb 14 th so she won’t care if I miss the hallmark one.
Shirley U jest...
1. More women attend alpyBBI than all other BBI events combined, although JHBBI had good representation of non-mag women too.
2. NWskier got married off so your SO is safe.
3. As a whole, this bunch is exclusively inclusive
3. lot4 shenanigans draw a crowd and a few outliers have gone completely unnoticed in the past
4. The local inhabitants cherish the opportunity to share the goods
Let me put it this way, as our 19th anniversary approached this summer and we were busy, she asked me if I bought a card yet, I said no, and she said why don't we just skip the cards this year, so we did. She tends to be much more appreciative of random acts of thoughtfulness, kind of like 2FUNKY alluded to. Works for me. But yeah I'll make her a Valentine's card for sure, especially if I'm going to be off skiing.
Although this does raise the issue of her birthday, which happens to fall on the same weekend, Feb. 17. That's cool, we'll be together in Tacoma so we can do something. She likes to check out new breweries, so if anybody can recommend the best brewery/restaurant in Tacoma let me know.
I am in. You will all experience the irul steeze
omg omg omg
An appropriate, if fawning, response
Oh boyAttachment 244282
Then the steeze will be all that more of a revelation for you
Like you?
I didn't mean to question his skiing ability... was just curious if he'd seen the place before.
Count me in- I've been sad to miss the past yrs events.
those pics are making me want to ski now. now!
djongo- if andrew can't accompany me, then maybe we can vanpool in my new ski burro (we only have 2 legit seats)
maybe hit up a couple of those little awesome ski hills in between?
Also can make a set of ski pole chimes for the maggot raffle.
not only are they stylish, they also make it snow more
Yes, baby bear!
I always thought the place looked gnar-balls, and that's just in pics.
^^^ last pic, do they run the lifts at night??? or did some people skin and poach?
I cannot WAIT- that place looks so fun
& looking fwd to seeing and chillin with all you guys #christmasforadults
also edit- who above asked about bringing their wife? pls do. I bet it helps to meet people in person vs her judging us from our internet postings and wondering WTF

So what is the real truth regarding presidents day traffic up there? Is it actually ok to get around if you need to drive and are there actual parking spots big enough to fit a Subaru? Mt Hood area gets to be a total disaster and I've been making the drive out the Baker city for presidents day just to avoid it.
Guess we will find out. I usually avoid resorts that weekend but whatevs.
Thurs/Fri for max vert... Sat for max partying when it's busy.
Taking Thursday and Friday off that week to enjoy maximal mag-age. I will also have crash space in Snoqualmie the Town, not the Pass, if anyone needs.
