Just to get off track for a minute here,I am constantly amazed at how bad Amazon is at packing boxes. It seems sort of central to their business, but they are terrible at it.
I think the bigger question is Amazon's motive.
How many companies have two HQ's?
My guess, is that the long term goal isn't to have two HQ's.
Generally speaking, I think the whole thing is a Trojan horse for whatever city get's it (if it really happens at all).
^^^It's a good question and I've wondered about that myself. How does 2 HQ's even work? Isn't one of them still the HQ? I mean somebody has to have the final say, right? So what does that make the other one?
Interesting reading here -
and some Hudge numbers here.Quote:
Please contact our team at amazonhq2@amazon.com to get started. You can view the Request For Proposal (RFP) document here. We encourage cities to think big and be creative.

... and no I haven't heard where......yet.
I would say there is an even chance that the whole thing is posturing to put them in a better negotiation position.
Hell they already have WA politicians that are fearful of loosing their tax base on the ropes asking for a re-boot to the local dialog/relationship.
I'll have to dig into that later.
The RFP I linked is very unspecific about what goes where or why but yep It's a business that's easy to split up like that IMO. Even now they're talking about 15-17 years out.
Ed Murray was particularly pathetic when this was all announced.... what was it he said? "I'm going to meet with them to discuss their future needs" a bit late I thought?
Was looking for an article I read on Amazon culture a while back. Interesting read, and makes you wonder if having Amazon in your town is really that desirable, other than the obvious financial benefits.

Lots of other articles out there....
I don't wonder about having Amazon in Seattle. At all.
I don't see Cowfart listed in the top ten choices. Source?
Please do not steer the thread off topic.
What's your beef?
Trying to avoid having this thread branded off-topic.
I think I can tri ungulate where things went wrong here.
Maybe we can herd everyone up and get this conversation corralled.
I'm udderly confused. Hung up on the horns of the topic as it were.
Okay, I think we've milked this drift enough.
Bullshit
HQ on Vache On Island where Bezos will have a steak in the matter?
Angus Young is going to be at the ribbon cutting.
I certainly hope they have an equal opportunity employment policy in Cowfart.

Clearly the subject is now out to pasture
Completely off the farm.
Was a prime choice while it lasted though
There is the really long play...buy up some dollar stores and Dairy Queens for DQ's nationwide...automate deliveries....with Whole Foods you have rural and urban...Boom! HQ2 needs an airport with reliable regional carriers.
