I worked at a veterinary clinic in my early 20's and one of the vets hooked herself up to an IV and euthanized herself. It was pretty sad.

I absolutely agree that some people deserve to die horrible painful deaths for what they have done. My problem with the death penalty is that we have a fallible justice system that, despite assurances that the death penalty shall be reserved for the most egregious and clear-cut cases, convicts innocent people of capitol crimes with shocking regularity and has undoubtedly executed innocent people. Even one innocent person being executed is unconscionable, and as long as the death penalty is legal that possibility exists.
