I'll bet that dude works at Doc's. They're the only 1/2 way decent shop in Santa Monica ('xcept the Surefoot, but they don't mount many skis). And they're incredibly big bullsh!ters over there.Quote:

You and me both Buster. I'm not busting Splat's chops on the delay since they never would have seen fresh PNW snow. That's why I asked for mine to be one of the last ones made this year (Well, that and the production bug killings). Going to get them mounted & tuned at 1 & 2 and spend the summer waxing 'em. I figure 20 waxings should do it. :wink:Quote:

I hear that Boston Mills already has a fleet of bros in the rental shop, in sizes down to 145cm.
Please have a qualified German shop professional perform the application.Quote:

I saw some dude twice recently with a set of bros in the GMD. Didn't recognize the outfit but I think the word is getting out to non-mags.
Got any blem-bros available, splat? Daddy got a raise recently.
Sorry. No blems.
This is a fact. It's a cheap knockoff, from 142 to 178, and 68cm waists. They're mounted with Marker rental bindings.Quote:

They're called the Woe Model.

You've never actually been to Boston Mills, I take it...Quote:

Gotcha.

Yeah, like sex.
See? I hate that one. And "box."
I do like the word "minx," though.
Jinx. That one sucks.
I just got back from 6 days in UT on Monday. The BROs shipped to my hotel on Friday (thanks to Splat and his phone tenacity). So I finally got to ski them Saturday and Sunday. I was so lucky that we got a huge dump on Sunday to really ski them in the powder. I'm a midwestern maggot so I’ve got very limited experience to true powder days, but these things totally rocked the pow!!! Splat told me to ski them anywhere like I was on a race course and I did. I ran them through moguls, steeps, crud, anything I could find and they are flawless. I can honestly say there’s nothing I wish these skis could do better.
I got questions from a dozen people easily on Saturday. Mostly along the lines of “those things are huge, how can you ski on them?” “Aren’t they too long for you?” “Aren't they powder skis?” etc. The smile on my face probably told them they were wrong, but in case it didn't, I just said “they do everything - well”.
Again, my extreme gratitude to Splat for keeping on top of the shipper and getting them in my hands.
Semi-off-topic here, but as BobMc noted at Deer Valley, I also noticed at Brighton on Sunday that almost everyone was in the cafeteria or base lodge the entire day. The ski racks outside the buildings were full while on the hill it seemed almost empty. There was a foot of fresh powder out there - WTF? My only guess is that most "touristy" skiers find it very difficult to snowplow through a foot of powder. In fact, the green groomers were less cut up than the blacks and double blacks. Being a midwestern JONG, I don't have much experience with "powder days", but does this generally hold true?
As the owner, it's good you get so many questions about your ski, because it creates some buzz about them, this can ultimately lead to more customers don't you think?Quote:

Soooo Eager for them...... I'm almost down to one pair of operational skis.... (the 4x4 Bigs mounted alpine). The Teledaddies are being coddled so that they make it to and back from Pear Lake Hut.
I met a dude named Seth on Bros at Snowbird yesterday. Cool guy, cool skies.
