Yeah, that's fucking nuts. And, it's 3.5 million customers, or bill paying households, so, multiply that number by, what, 3 or 4? No plows, no fucking snow shovels, even, tons of rear drive now useless cars and trucks. Cold fucking night ahead.
Saw this today and recalled how real the attitude is

I rowed crew in high school and we'd start in late February or the first of March. On the Charles River, in Boston. Our coach was this guy Kim Basset, a big burly motherfucker with a brush cut, an evil sense of humor, and a terrible stutter when he got excited.
And when it was cold as fuck and we had practice, he'd get excited. He loved it. He'd come strutting into the locker room, where we were basically trying to hide, smiling ear-to-ear and rubbing his hands together and he'd say (more like bellow): "It's g-g-g-g-g--g-gonna b-b-b-be c-c-c-c-c-cold as a w-w-w-w-w-witch's t-t-t-tit out there, b-b-b-b-boys!!!" And then he'd laugh his ass off and march away.
Man I hated that guy.
Plumbers fix is quick. The water mitigation and reconstruction guys stick around for a while though.
Dallas high doesn’t go above freezing until Friday... There’s going to be a lot of broken pipes and damaged buildings.
One of my co-workers lives in Dallas and her power went out this morning. Her house was down to 50 inside by this afternoon. They have a gas fireplace that they’re running nonstop, but it has double paned glass on it to prevent it from throwing too much heat, because it’s Texas.

I have friends in Austin with a 5 month old baby that have been in their car with it running since yesterday morning when their power went out.

(I know cry me a river blah blah blah).
This is just a sign to all the Texan ski tourists to stay home this year. No need to travel, winter came to you! Enjoy!

Speaking of rivers. All those iced up rivers in the Midwest feeding the Big River are result in some crazy flooding when it warms up.
Too right, TR.
When this crazy cold snap breaks everyone from Pittsburgh to Missouri is going to be treated to some complimentary flooding to go with their busted pipes and damaged electric grid.
Have to assume the same on the west side of the river.
-31 was last week, I didnt have any problems but GF's laundry room froze & the powersteering in her passat quits working at about -30
and they shut the ski hill down
What do you do when it's been freezing cold, grey and snowing for seemingly forever?
Well, if you find yourself stuck at Kent State apparently you use the internets to get a few hundred people together for a snowball fight.
Where's BigSteve, I believe he's an alum.

Family in Tyler sound pretty grim this morning. Dipped down to 3 degrees. They do have a fireplace so were able to keep the house around 50 but they are def. stressed.
New records:
-- Oklahoma City: -14 degrees Fahrenheit, coldest since 1899, second-coldest temperature ever. (Oklahoma didn't even become a state until 1907.)
-- Dallas: -2 degrees Fahrenheit, coldest since 1930, second-coldest temperature ever.
-- Houston: 13 degrees Fahrenheit, coldest since 1989.
-- San Antonio, Texas: 12 degrees Fahrenheit, coldest since 1989.
-- Little Rock, Arkansas: -1 degrees Fahrenheit, coldest since 1989.
-- Fayetteville, Arkansas: -20 degrees Fahrenheit, all-time coldest temperature.
-- Hastings, Nebraska: -30 degrees Fahrenheit, all-time coldest temperature.
Here in W2 we are finally above freezing with 2ft of snow on the ground. Donkey's are up to their knees in the stuff. So exhausting to do farm chores in this stuff. Hoping for a sssssssssllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooo ooowwwwwwwwwww melt.
Well, they sure as shit can't handle having a professional football team either. Look how fast that shit is melting.
The no heat thing could make for some eye poking displays at the gentleman's clubs down there.
Well, that didn't take long.
Snow on popular Galveston, TX beach, suspected Mag shreds it. In a race bib. Finds exposed rock. Of course.

Our predicted 8-12 inch snow storm turned to freezing rain after 3.5 inches and now it is warm and shitty, ruining our soft snowpack. For the first time this winter, I barely broke 12" at my stake this morning and it has already settled back down to 11".
Screw you Texas for stealing our cold air. :fuckyou:
Can we get Danno or Splat to fix the thread title?
I'd be a lot cooler if it wasn't a jumbled mess.
I thought Splat was retired from moderating and just posting stuff from his Facebook feed in the NSFW thread these days?
Also before we just accept that a witches tit is truly cold, can we first confirm this in the Tammy Wynette thread?
Do we have any Salem, MA mags here that can comment?
Did Londonderry have any witches, that you knew of?
Speaking of Texas, the now former mayor of Colorado City, TX weighs in.......WOW:

You know, except for some stories I have heard about Austin, I could give a fuck about anywhere else in Texas. It's like God distilled the worst of the worst of the Scots Irish and let it settle there. And then they found oil.
Vnzclrtho used to live in Salem I think and so did advres. Somebody else too, way back when. The Salem contingent has left the building apparently. Maybe on their brooms.
