Not always. The Jeep club I'm a member of here in CO regurlarly organizes and participates in trail cleanup activities, revegetation projects, and educating and informing rookies to the "tread lightly" concept. A concept that "MOST" responsible wheelers follow like gospel. Jeep emissions are much less when wheeling than most cars driving on the highways, because they are normally crawling at ~ 10 miles an hour. An eight hour Jeeping trip may only use a quarter tank of gas.

After reading the sled dog thread I have to wonder - is there any cause that you are not a crusader for? Aren't there some whales to be saved or something?

My g/f and i were planning on heading down to Moab area for some R&R next wednesday, the 23rd through friday or saturday.... is it gonna be total chaos?
Any info would be appreciated. We're planning on camping down by the river (in a van, of course) a little North of town.

Seldom, Easter weekend is the high time for the jeepers. Moab will be absolutely packed. Finding a camp site will be tough anywhere near town.
Negro Bill canyon about 5 miles East on Hwy 127 (Colorado River) is a great hike that is hiking only, dogs love it.
I hate to say it but if you are looking for some peace and quite, this is not the weekend to be there (Easter weekend).
