End of July - Early Aug
I decided I would have to go back and get a look at October patch after I read Vets reply above. I went up last Saturday, July 27, and it was holding up well. I took a couple laps on it:

I also decided to take a trip down to Dunderberg this Saturday, August 3, after seeing the photos/report above. I saw Vets and Dookey's tracks down skiers left side of Jacks Glacier and I put 3 fresh tracks over top of them. I made a 4th lap starting from the same spot at the top, but quickly turned across the central blue ice area and crossed to the far right edge of the glacier and went down over on that side.
I don't know if anymore calving has happened recently, like Dookey mentioned. I took a picture from the top and it almost identical to one taken when they were there only what snow was floating in the water has since melted. There wasn't any snow floating in it at all when I was there.
After Jacks Glacier I hiked up the ridge to get a quick look at Hidden Glacier. I didn't put down any tracks on it because I was pretty tired by this point and had a cooler of cold beer waiting back at my camp that was too tempting. Hidden Glacier also looked sort of different this year than in years past, at least from what I'm used to seeing. The main difference is at the bottom. Usually it seems like Hidden Glacier mellows out at the bottom and the snow actually continues out beneath the pool of water at the bottom, almost like a perfect pond skimming setup. This year the snow/ice just drops off, more like Jacks, but obviously not nearly as big a drop off.
Vet & Dookey's older tracks:

View from the top, almost the same as before, but those chunks of snow in the water have since melted:

PBR and POW = FUN, nice job on the October Patch and Jack's as well as providing recon beta on Hidden. I still wonder if October will even make it to September this year. When I look at our before and your after pictures of Jack's I can see that some more calving did take place. Hidden looks like there is still a decent amount of vertical even though the main part looks narrower than last year.

Skier666, thanks!
Gone2Alpine and I just returned from two days at Timberline. Once I get caught up on photos and sleep I'll start a TRs-August 2013 Skiing thread.
