All of these responses and no link to the paleo thread, ya'll are slackin.
In my opinion colon health is the foundation of the bodies proper function. Do some independent research from people like Mercola and Daniel P. Reid, for 3 months follow just half of their nutritional philosophies, and keep lightly drinking beer, I will all but guarantee your symptoms will begin to fade rapidly. The difference you see will become annoying to your friends and anyone that you talk to about it as you become a nutritionally self righteous know it all with all the answers and the solution to everyones health problems.
Start off with a 10 day deep colon cleanse using Herbal Fiberblend (from AIM) while juicing and eating light raw foods. If you want real results go for the colonics and no food (except maybe some blue green alge or something similarly rich) but that might be a little extreme for your current daily habits.
After the cleans reestablish your guts biotic balance with Keefer and other probiotic rich fermentations. Eat raw foods as much as possible and completely cut out all grains and seeds.
I know it all sounds sooooo extreme, relative to the established mainstream solutions, but consider that before the formation of western medicine this is basically what was prescribed in the most advanced cultures for several thousand years.

Saw my general Doc (Internist) this morning. He was surprised by the P.A.'s recommendation. Said there are more contributing factors and other indicators (triglycerides?) that would be necessary for me to stop drinking. Going in for more blood-work tomorrow AM and have an in-depth physical scheduled for the end of the summer.
Excellent recommendation about getting records and bringing them with me. Doc was having difficult finding the lab and CT results. I was able to find it quickly in my paperwork.
I asked him about going back to the P.A. in 8 weeks. He said, "No, we'll handle this in our office." I liked that.
BTW - He prefers IPA :)

There ya go. Obviously you might need to make some changes but this sounds a lot more like it. Good deal.
