My 3yo, now in his second season. He was so proud of himself that he could ski the box all on his own.

My 6 year old rippin the gates, her 4th season skiing. Smoked her 8 year old sister in both runs, the first by a full ten seconds. She was the youngest in the field of 75 Nancy Green racers aged 7 to 10 ( I registered her as a 7 year old so she could joint the club) , she came in 25th place over all. Sign of things to come...

As of last weekend, he's dropped the wedge so i need to get another shot of him tearing it up. He also discovered the terrain park in january. So, more shots to come...
My boys got to go skiing for the 1st time on their 1st birthday!

Thing #1 makes the podium in 2nd in the first regional jr.comp of the season. Pretty soon he'll be too old for the 'kid stoke' thread. Seems like yesterday he looked just like the ones above on his plastic skis. Thing #2 finished 8th! Thing #1's the one in the red shirt. Only 1/4 of a point off of winning, but he was stoked to have his crew up there with him.http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...s/IMG_1114.jpg
Congrats Papa Piste.
Congrats Piste!
Keep up the stoke, like seeing all this
My nine year old stepson last week taking on some steeps off the High Lift at Crested Butte on his S7 Juniors. Next year he'll probably be to old for this thread so I'll have to post up pics of my little girl who'll just be getting her start

We did lap after lap into Teo without a hint of complaint from him about the hike. Dude was stoked on the adventure of skiing the double blacks with his dad even if it meant some hard work. Super cool.
Thanks fellers. It's pretty awesome indeed and I have one more coming (now 11) to the big mountain arena next year after several years of racing. I'm excited to have three kids on the junior circuit. Fortunately, the tall tee thing never really hit our household, though they do seem to like their pants baggy. Oh well. As long as they're ripping and love it I really don't give a shit what they wear.
Grand kid stoke. 3 y o Emma prepared to drop in her first black diamond run. Instructor said she was ready. Taking one of her stuffed friends along for the ride.

I enjoy this thread because it weeds out much of the "I'm so core, I don't care about anyone but my own bad self" attitude portrayed by some. It's all about the good vibe of a younger generation getting to know and love what we all know and love.
Watching your child ski their first black diamond, launch their first airs or even take some of their first serious diggers is a breathe of new life.
A quick story - no pic: This past week, my 5 year old girl called and left me a message at work... in the sweetest little girl voice you can imagine... "Daddy, I was wondering if we could go skiing today..." Yeah, I left work early and we hit the slopes. A family that skis together stays together.

Here are a couple of the 400 short vids Ive shot this year.
The first is Owen telling it like it is.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baPPyB2XdaQ&feature=related
The second is Team Owen, my Owen and and Telemikes Owen, in the Kirkwood park. Mikes Owen boosted the tranny lip but being a dad I turned to my kid too quickly and missed it. These two were born a week apart back in 06 and it was cool finally getting them together.

My Girl, Caroline, 7, and 48" tall, skiing 30" of light pow in Steamboat last Monday.
She had a blast and truly knows what over the head pow is like.
She wanted more, but I told her it might be while before she has another day like that.

I'm stoked to finally contribute. Myself and my 3 y/o at Monarch on Friday. Got a solid 2 hours in with her! She even convinced me to take her on the chair lift and she loved it.

All this stoke of super young and up to teens is AWESOME. Being a parent is fantastic and being the parent of a skier even better. The day they make it down from the summit unaided is indescribable. It happened for us the other day. I've been out with Bridger a lot this winter, he's got about 30 days on snow by my calculations. This past week or two has seen MAJOR breakthrough for him and then Thursday the conditions and weather were prime. He took 3 summit runs in the am and 2 in the pm. Almost top to bottom and with no help at all from myself or grandpa (who's just as stoked as I am).
Oh and he's not quite 3.5, born in November '08. A small clip from Thursday at Magic, VT:
Proudest parent day ever!! EVER!
Skills and he carries his own gear at 6 years, couldn't be prouder.

Since the Tahoe season began (Jan 20ish), I have had a great family ski season.
--Wilson 4.5 has 11 days, and has made great progress (vid at bottom).
-----His mom really taught him everything, he is nervous about lessons (and we didnt push), and on weekends I am manning Calvin.
--Calvin had his first ski day (loosely speaking) at 18 months.....and now he has 5 days of lift riding with family. :)

I've been lagging on the kid stoke this season. Here's some.
Owen did his first race at China Peak this weekend - he did awesome!
he's 5
he placed mid-table in the 6-8 year old group
he was a very good boy all weekend
he had a lot of fun
he posed for his mama

I think we have some race photos to share, too
This is by far my favorite thread on TGR. I love all the stoke!!!
It's also a great place to play SUPER PROUD parent without annoying all of your childless friends.
Our 3 year old has been absolutely killing it this year. Everyday we ski is a new adventure. I am so stoked to get out with him.
We just moved from VT to AK and he's already a pow hungry little dude.
He skied what I learned is called "Breakfast Bowl" and also lower Hillary's (telemike, you should recognize these names). I got breakfast bowl on video. The whole rest of the day he kept asking to ski pow pow. He told his dad that he needs powder skis like mommy. I was almost rolling with laughter. Being a ski parent rocks.
A little TGR powder/bowl stokage if you don't mind:
So proud!!!
