The guys got a diesel motor for his 4th day out this season and his "off the couch" approach to a triathlon like day.

You don't need to borrow a sled, I'll tow mine down again. I towed it down for this trip, and looked like an ASS in the parking lot with no snow for as far as the eye could see. To top it off, I had Arizona license plates. "Hey, look at that chump from Arizona! He thinks he is going to ride his sled up that road!"

Hence the bikes.

Skibe...i really don't do the Beav. I'd rather BC it than ski there. Its got something to do with the mountain, the owners, and oh yeah..the owners.

Great video, love ski mountaineering in Utah, although I've never done it. Logistically, how much time did using the bikes save you? looks like quite a bit o' hassle for minimal advantage, but please correct me if I am mistaken. thanks

i think the bikes came in handy for the ride out. stoy and i kept up just fine on foot with less energy expended. the hard part was trying to put on cold alpine boots at the trailhead.

trackhead and powstash could tell you more about the bikes. for me, the leg burn would have ended that trip real quick.

It made for a nostalgic and unique approach. But the old quads felt a little funny when the skinning started. I was worried I may have fried myself for the long day ahead.

But on the way out it sure was fun. And I'd ride again, if I had too. Or next time just fire up the Polaris.
