The one you are referring to is the Sportube Double Haul. Why not just say that douche? They are similar yet very different in design, so no patent infringement. While the Sportube is a decent design, this one blows it away in my opinion without even seeing the final product.Quote:

Everyone, I am in a bit of a quandary at the moment. I want to continue this project, but can't afford to get sued.
I have done searching to the best of my ability on the USPTO.gov site for related patents. I found 1, 04967504.pdf that seems like the precursor to the sportube. It has expired, and it could be argued that the next logical step would be to make a solid, locking rear hatch, therefore excluding further patents.
I have done a whois search on the www.Titanrodvault.com address, which brings you to http://bodeoutfitters.com/. The name and e-mail address listed matches that of cubcreek.
I'm not sure what to do, I can't find a patent, they don't list one, and i have a feeling that there isn't one. But, the owner of the site knows about this thread and what I am doing.

If you look closely you will see that krp8128 design is not exactly like yours so really no infringement what so ever. For there to be infringement the design has be EXACTLY alike unless you filed patents for a assload of different variations.

Why don't we just delete this thread and take care of this through PM...also...just sell it unassembled without a hinge or latch...this product is made for the purpose of storing large vibrators...it doesn't even do the same thing as the other products!

Everything is all set, I have independent confirmation from 2 people in the legal know that I'd likely be in the clear, and a third wasn't able to find the $400 design in a patent search.
Yesterday I got the plugs 90% done, I just need to do a little sanding and then prime them. After that it is wax on, wax off (~6x), make the mold then make the first box.
Now that I have cunted up my own thread....
