Well, I like large women and I usually do my business pretty fast under the covers, so I figure I got two out of three for the summit. The better part could give me some trouble though.Quote:

The only thing I don't like about A-Basin is that you need oxygen just to walk across the parking lot. By the time you get to the lodge carrying all your shit those ten stairs up look like Everest.

A-basin has some good runs and I like that you park so close to the lifts, that's nice. I wouldn't say it's not crowded though, since they added the Super Pass it's mobbed there on most weekends. A-Basin is one of the few resorts in CO that I enjoy skiing without fresh snow, plenty of challenge there, but then again I'm a JONG. I'd say that the Pali chair is the best chair in CO to run laps on, but I haven't skied all the areas here.

Nothing to be said for Silverton? Then again that's a special place...
What about Butte and Steamboat and Telluride? Are they as hated and sucky as the Denver area resorts? I've never been to any of the three, so I can't say anything about them, but they don't seem all that bad...
P.S. Ski Broadmoor is CLOSED? Well that would explain why my dad and I (navigating just like a couple of bumbling idiots) couldn't make our way up the hill to the "resort." That whole place is a zoo, anyway. Literally.
How long has ski broadmoor been closed, anyone? [/hijack]
Welcome, JONG!Quote:

For those of you who believe that A-Basin is flat, has no snow, is too crowded, blah, blah, blah.
I suggest that you be forced to ski only Camelback(PA), Hunter Mtn., Mt.Snow on weekends for an entire season.
If you were with me in Las Lenas this year your comments would probably read something like this:
"Yeah the 7 feet of snow was cool but it was all tracked out by noon under El Marte."
This may or may not be relevant... but to my current knowledge, I have no recollection of a single powder day in CO. It snowed about 2 inches in Keystone once like 2 years ago, and 3 inches this season in Breck (11 in Beaver Creek the same day, damnit) but before and after these trips(probably 5 or 7 in all: Vail 3 times, Breck twice, Keystone twice--three if you include the night skiing this last trip--and Purgatory once) I truthfully cannot recall any significant fresh. The most I have ever had in CO was in Area 51 at night (4 inches from the same 3 that Breck got)!
Fuel for the argument fire. ;)
I know! ;)Quote:

This is now my second favorite post of all time. Sorry Max but #1 is from last season when someone (in December) stated that East Wall may not open all season.Quote:

A-basin: too small(I get lonely not skiing with 1000 other people on the same trail),too many bumps(wouldn't want to have to ski those and get in better shape) & too many rocks(sucks to ski of one and get a little air).
Silverton: only has one lift, plus it's pretty flat compared to...... let's see......the Eiger(Swiss).
Steamboat: snow is too heavy(like 7% H2O content)
Berthoud: no lifts(I can't get up the mountain without my ass on a seat)
Wolf Creek: not enough snow and it never dumps early season.
Telluride: too far from I-70(takes me 4.5 hrs. and I live in the state!)
Vail: Vail Pass/East Vail: chutes and bowls are too crowded.
Crested Butte: Flat, too bumpy, and they got those damn poma things.
Man, I could just go on and on with the rants & bitchings.
I have lived in Vail for over 5 years. To this day I have yet to ski POW! I guess it is time to get rid of my Sugar Daddies :( !!!!!
I hear your pain, man. Going into my 11th season here and I don't think I've ever had more than a couple powder days. Colorado sucks. Don't ski here. I only stay for the kayaking. :(Quote:

OK. Are you guys all on, like, really hard drugs? I've lived here 2 years, and I've had more powder days than I can count on three hands. You have to be ready to drop everything, ditch school, call in sick to work, sell the kids, whatever to be a true Snow Slut, and ski fresh tracks on powder with every storm. Hell, A-Basin got 7" on three successive days I was there. Man, I can't tell you how good it feels to get 7" all day long 3 days in a row (I was a cripple by the middle of day 2). It really has snowed every single time I've been to A-Basin this year (something like 15 times). I know we're in a drought, but this is GREAT compared to Southern California where it never snows and they stay alive on blown snow, kinda like keystone. More people come to Colorado to ski than any other state in the US each year. Oh, shit, THAT is why good ol' KChri started this post in the first place - to keep everyone away! I'll just tuck my tail between my legs and shut the hell up!
Picture Please! :DQuote:

You lose the use of your legs and yet you still keep boning for another full day. Lordy that's hot.Quote:

Take it from someone that was KIDDING, this thread is fucking hilarious.
Oh, and by the way, you can have 7" three days in a row, I'll take my 36" overnight with bluebird to follow.
like i said... colorado sucks ass for skiing nobody should ever come here. certain people should even leave hereQuote:

Check out the gullies or even the terain behind the north pole .To slide prone. yeah Thats what I thought! Must be over 35 Degrees. As for the bumps , What you see is what you get. Its what you don't see , That make you smile every lap. If any body want to put their little sally ass's to the test why don't you step up and ski the a-basin enduro in march .10 hours of lapping pali straight , If you want I 'll come out from my snow infested{anti jinx} mountains of Tahoe and be your teamate, Well see who's whining about bumps and Ice and the soaking wet tampon between your legs when your trying to catch up with some of the best lo profile skiers in the country . Oh and by the way Max you are such a little pussy, stick to your (where are my skis?) threads , don't hop on the band wagon and say colorado sucks. If I ever see you there I am going to run you over full speed . My 2 cents
I'm glad I'm just a Gaper (that's right, it's a proper noun, dammit). Ignorance is bliss.
You see, I used to be all about the "it has to be extremely steep, narrow, etc, for it to be worthwhile" mantra. Oh, how I wanted to be the hottest fucking skier this side of the Mississippi.
"Look at me rip these bumps, dammit!"
Then I realized . . . nobody cares. And then I realized . . . my knees sure are starting to care.
All the chestbeating got old, and everyone eventually figured out they were just local dirtbags, no matter how much air they could get. And the Texans still got all the pussy. :(
I guess what I'm trying to say is - now I get as much joy skiing a 15 degree pitch, as I do a 40 degree pitch. But I still try my damnest to beat the local jocks to the fresh.
And in the end, I have less to prove to myself and others than the superheroes fighting over the "big fish". It's just skiing!
I once straightlined all of Pali.............
.....Switch.
Think of the children!Quote:
