I just ordered the soundtrack on wonderful compact disc format via Amazon. Stoked.
Saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Not ground breaking cinema by any means, but a fun watch. The soundtrack and visuals are awesome.
I saw it this weekend and was not impressed. As advanced as the CG for Clu were supposed to be I still found myself distracted by how it didn't seem real. The story was not that great for me and I thought Olivia Wilde took a back seat to the other hottie, Gem (Beau Garrett). The action sequences were underwhelming. I did like how Bridges kept up with the Dude type language because it helped the idea that he was trapped in the digital world for a long time.
saw it last night and was unimpressed. I thought if they were making a TRON movie they were going to raise the bar with style and 3D fx and rad editing. The 3D was average at best and the story had way too many plotholes for me to get into it. The original TRON was a groundbreaking film in digital FX and I was expecting an immersive experience like avatar and then some. I think i would have enjoyed this film far more in 2D. On the other hand the women in the film are the hottest onscreen I have seen in a long time, so its got that going for it.
According to my 10yo daughter it was "the greatest movie I've ever seen."
I thought it was fun, but then again I wasn't expecting much. Oh, and Olivia Wilde is fucking gorgeous...

Tron: Legacy is amongst the most graphically stunning movie and is beautiful to see. I have seen this movie, and I think that the stunt work and action sequences in this Tron sequel are some of the best of the year. It is one of those rare movies that manages to do justice to its source material without being a slave to it.
I fucking loved the movie...but I am a huge dork and fanboy of the original. I wasn't expecting too much, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I loved the quick cameo of Daft Punk in the club, too. That soundtrack and score THUMPED in IMAX 3D.
i saw it over the weekend and thought it was super weak. about 1/3 of the way in i was just hoping it would end. visually unique but the plot was just completely predictable and uninteresting. but mostly it didn't work for me because it was more fantasy than science fiction. /superdork
Never saw it in theaters, but got the Blu Ray and gave it a shot - I liked it, and with BR it looks BEAUTIFUL. Plus I get a disc with the DVD version as well as the digital copy...I like the idea of getting a BR packed with the DVD version (so I can watch it on laptop/xbox etc).
Downside - my fucking audio kept switching off! Like totally off. There were at least 4 or 5 points in the movie where all audio would just stop and never come back - movie would keep playing just fine, and I could pause, fast fwd, whatever. Only cure for it was to reboot the whole player...wait for the menu to load (way too much "this operation has been disabled because we want to waste your time with previews"), then select the chapter, and then be sure to ffwd PAST the spot that gave difficulty because if I'd play it again the same shit would happen again.
ANNOYING!
Oh yeah soundtrack and visuals were KILLER. Wow!

Still worth it. Also: there is a remix of the soundtrack out now. Mostly meh, but a couple decent tracks. With the people involved with the remix, I expected more.

Son got it on Saturday for getting a good report card. He still thinks it's the greatest movie evar!
Me? i think it's cheesy, but fun, and Olivia Wilde is (still) hot.
I enjoyed it - but I was a fan of the original one as well. More importantly, this was the first IMAX 3-D movie I have seen (no - still haven't seen Avatar). It was pretty cool - the visuals worked well on the 3-D. Soundtrack was also pretty cool. Cheesy - yes. But still highly entertaining IMO.
I actually loved the remix, great stuff to ski to.
For those that didn't notice, the tron uprising animated cartoon is on netflix. Takes place inbetween the original tron and tron legacy. Cool style, good music, and surprisingly good for a Disney cartoon. Worth a watch.
Bump
So Disney has started hyping Tron Ares. Daft Punk isn't reuniting for the soundtrack, so Nine Inch Nails has taken the torch. It's not the Daft Punk reunion I was hoping for, but I'm here for this and I'm jumping on the hypecycle right now.
