Entre Rios pictures coming. Didn´t get to piss your name in the snow, but it was a nice 15 foot cornice into waist deep, wasatch type light cold fluffy smoke, untracked all the way to the bottom through main chute ;) I hope that will do!Quote:

nice.... it snows a few meters the weekend I leave. It's good to see the place covered in snow and the crew "killing it softly."
Hammertime!
For 4 years in a row you've practically begged me to go, basically guaranteeing me epic pow and mind blowing terrain, and for 4 years in a row you've completely nailed it, deep pow and you dancin' with Ms. Santa Rosa.Quote:

I´ve been typing up copious reports of Spatulation without any response from you. I was beginning to think you were dead. It dumped in Bariloche Saturday thru Monday night. Fucking sickness here. Took a side trip the last two days to secret resort. It snowed there Monday but since nobody ever goes there, I was skiing fresh lines today...Friday!!!
Speaking of Spatulas, I´ve been getting endless attention with those skis. It´s actually kinda annoying at this point. Everyone keeps staring at them in disbelief. I even had one guy ask me if he could take a picture with them. Today I looked down at them and decided to rename them Clown Skis.
Oh and if you´re wondering what my opinion is of them now that I´ve gotten used to them...
You´ll have to pry them from my cold dead hands. :D
You quote-stealer!Quote:

But no, really - that looks awesome! I am so "home"sick for that place!!! Is Dave in a place, shall we say, without a name?
How are conditions holding up? Any word on closing day? Still snowing?
Thanks for the updates!!!
yesterday:
for basom, a huge 2000´+ fresh rockstar line down entre rios: the picture earlier is me dropping the cornice. snow was thigh-deep fluff to the bottom. most brutal bootpack i´ve ever done but so worth it.
then we found a curiously neglected snowfield in exocet and lapped it a couple times. anything south facing is still cold smoke.
finally we took down hourglass couloir. 3000´, 40-50 degrees, giant rock walls, runs nearly all the way down to the creek. snow was blower on some aspects, chalk on others, and icy in the second crux - anything with north exposure is getting melt-freezed. an intense ride
today:
sickness down the chutes in the bowl at the far side of cerro martin. top is 55 degrees +. deep blower all the way down. squirrel did a sweet jump entrance to rock ollie. i dropped the cornice and almost washed myself with my own sluff. chuck hit an unexpected icy patch, jumped a rock band, and straightlined the whole thing.
so good we hiked it again. top of banana, around the corner to the chutes on the face. more untouched blower. snow is still perfect.
closed out the day by getting reminded of our own mortality. missed the turnoff to vegas and ended up in a very narrow 1600´ coulour where a snowboarder had scraped the crux down to 30´of icy rockfall. squirrel leads the sketchiest downclimb ever, in view of a steadily accumulating crowd on the piste below. we are both gripped hard but finally make it and get the skis back on. then a little 8-10´drop at the exit into chocolate chips, squirrel ejects and nearly tomahawks a boulder. i acid drop it and we ski out. we are both shaking.
careful of that "last run", friends.
if there were photographers and videographers there we could have made a movie by now. three days of pure bluebird and fluff. but who wants to interrupt their line to set up for action shots?
tonight all the weekend warriors arrive. there will be debauchery at ufo and elsewhere late into the night. saturday we sleep in.
life is good.
all of these SA threads rule. They are sustaining me.
Not Really, hijacker! :p But hope you are getting the pow too (and better looking women in Bariloche!). Looking forward to more of you pics.Quote:

Entre Rios kicked ass- best run of the trip so far
http://www.biglines.com/photos/blpic27190.jpg
Check out the line to the left that chokes. Hit up this entrance off the cornice for a most enjoyable ride. It´s the cornice with the shaded area in above picture, landing directly adjacent to the small rock. Heré is a view looking down from the top as
once again, our ´Bird-Jackson-Alpental crew getting in first tracks... Mot and Raja´s lines in the foreground http://www.biglines.com/photos/blpic27191.jpg
