Where in PA are you from and where did you go to school?
I'm panning on the 5-mountain pass. I guess where to go is always conditions based. I doubt I'll see much if any time at Keystone. Maybe a few days at Breck. I'll blow all 10 days at Vail and the rest will probably be spent at A-basin.Quote:

Other trips to Bert and Mary Jane. And lots of UTAH. :D
homer...I live outside of Phila, work in Phila, and I went to school at PSU.
I'll have the 5 mtn pass plus the copper pass. Avg. days at Copper with the pow days at B. Creek until later then most days at 'Basin.Quote:

small world homer. PSU '99 here. You're in CO or CA now?
resort-wise, I plan to ski primarily within:
bert
mj
a-basin
loveland
secondarily:
vail/backcountry
aspen highlands
and will be prone to making mad dashes to any of the following on the basis of dumpage:
alta
snowbasin
kirkwood
alpine meadows
silverton
jackson
targhee
bachelor
crystal
I'd also like to get back to or explore if time/money permits:
wolf creek
taos
monarch
telluride
big sky
bridger
whitewater
banff
and finally, someday I'm going to get around to hitting Cham and Whistler/Black.
Then of course there's the summer months, which include PacNW volcano touring, South American insanity, and Colorado chuting.

oh, wait, what? You were just asking about where we were gonna try to meet up some this next season, huh? Sorry, got carried away.
I'm with the monkey, its all about the pow. Aside from that, I have a strong hatred for Keystone, Copper, and Vail, and won't meet you in those places with any regularity, but I'll go anywhere else. Bert is damned close for me and free...I could forsee a lot of eeearly workday mornings up there.
Denver. May relocate within the state in the upcoming months.Quote:

No mo CO fo yo. :( I miss big parts of it already. I'll be around sometime in the winter for a hut trip and maybe an Aspen/Snowmass trip...
YoCletus - No love for Snowmass?
My early season will likely be cut short, so I haven't decided on whether to buy the Loveland Pass again. I'll have the WP/MJ and Copper Superpass again. Will probably spend more time at Copper this season (shooting a boatload of panoramas for Copper and WP/MJ), but most of my days will be at MJ.
Below Zero... yea, we usually get a bunch of dorks together for the premier nights.
Moderate love.Quote:

Snowmass is that quality over quantity thing.... The goods are very good, but you have to work at it to get to them - i.e. multiple lifts back to the quality areas, some hiking, etc. That's fine by me. I'll take 2 good, blissfull runs for a whole day over 20 moderate runs anytime. Some skiers have a need to get in thier vert. I don't. A few high quality runs is all it takes for me...Quote:

Has anyone heard anything new about the swirling rumours of divestiture by Vail of it's empire,or is the swirling just something that needs to be flushed?
Hey front range mags,
In my infinite wisdom (or inebriation, depending on your political views),I think we should gather some hardy folks together & have a party to offer tribute to ULLR.A little piety & reverence could only further our cause.I mean,HOW much trouble could we actually get in?Is this Russia? This isn't Russia! You must be one with the snow.ALL we need is someone stupid enough,I Mean earnest enough ,to volunteer their home for the interior demolitionists convention.Hell,I'll even provide the live music.I've got a pool & a pond, the pond would be better for you.Maybe some unsuspecting park could become our place for harmonic convergence!Alright so maybe this idea gets 10 out 10 for style, but gets several million against for good thinking!
...starting to sound like a lurker or alias. It's been done man. By these people, and not far from your home. We're certainly not opposed to doing it again.
The Dude is having a party on the 21st.
Where is the Big Lebowski throwing this saurez on the 21st?
now thats weird....i think MD9 knows a thing or two about thatQuote:

Also, spend most weekends up at Mary Jane/Winter Park myself.
so i am moving to denver to go to school. What are my options for passes with a good student discount. I was assuming I would get the vail etc. pass but i see talk of winterpark, loveland and others. Where is the best skiing / shortest commute? I want to ski but time might be a limiting factor this season.
I think Loveland is your best option for get in, get out quick, nobody gets hurt.Eldora is up the cluster fuck canyon & is only really worth it if you live in the Republic O Boulder.Loveland can suck early season, put late season it usually rocks.Last season I got a pass there for the 1st time & I'm definately signing up again.Parking is right there, most of the powder is accessed by hiking/traversing the ridge off of chair 9,so it stays fresh. The terrain isn't steep like A-Basin,but the snow is better & there are way fewer skiers. There's a saying at the Basin, there's no such thing as a powder day,it's a powder hour.Lately it's more like a powder 15 minutes.Ciao.
i wouldnt limit yourself to one mountain for an entire season. get a colorado pass or a winter park/copper pass.
I'm moving to Golden for school in one week. As of now I think I'm going to limit myself to Abasin. Might go with the Colorado pass, but not sure yet.
edit - If anyone is willing to help out a BC jong this winter that would be great. I think I'll be doing 3 day class through school, but could probably use some patient people for my first few trips for more help.
Hmmm, Loveland patrol's summer softball party is on the 21st, which will at least get me down to Lakewood. And that's halfway to Parker. If you don't mind me showing up after I've already helped float a couple of kegs, I'd like to see everybody. Would definitely need floor space...Quote:
