i wear a size 13. straps bindings and clickers (hard to find clickers my size). i like the wide boards for the float as well. and if its crusty or hard, losing an edge due to toe dig is no fun.

Throw a tape measure on the waist of your boards or check the specs online.

Splitties seem more popular in north america than on this side of the Atlantic despite the pioneering Nitro split which was around in Y'rupe in the mid-90s.

My BC snowboard guru is convinced that light plastic snowshoes really are the way to go. He climbs 50degree slopes straight up on his shoes although I can often distance him on nice 25degree drags, especially when there is deep pow. The big advantage is a performant snowboard which can be really nice given the changable conditions you can find in the BC. The pic below shows Steph on the hard snow we found at around 10,000 feet on the Point de Cerces near la Grave.

I think the snowboard/skier conflicts are a bit overdone to be honest... chacun sa trace as we like to say here.

anyone ever make a splitboard themselves? i am getting a new stick this year and was thinking about putting my old fella under the knife. i have the binding hardware already...

i guess the biggest problem would be not having an edge on the cut side.

Don't have a splitboard but I'm gonna start doing some BC this year here in Utah.

From what I read, Verts kick butt.. I'm gonna have to snag a pair.
