Sick. All that snow!!!
Below Zero and I were the first 2 skiers down Alberta Face on Sunday...that run alone was worth the price of admission.
Way too many pictures to look at. Could you reduce all the pictures to..like...just one photo?
Multi-photo TR's are SO 2006.
I appologize for the poor photo quality. P&S + low light + action is hard.

and just so this isn't one of those one picture dealies... more Gosey:

Bomber! Nice air.
(and nice pics Summit)
NICE!!!! That was worth the hype, and definately plenty large (especially with early season snow). Solid stick too!!!
sweet shots, guys.
summit, is that a handheld sequence?
Nice writeup Max! Makes me want Thursday and Friday to get here to ski some pow instead of doing homework!
'twas a great day at WC. met more maggots than i ever have (thanks to being on Bros)... actually fuck that, it was the first time i have ever met maggots (i am shy about my internet affiliations and still working on getting over the dorkyness of being part of such a cool group of people ON THE INTERNET).
i have never felt such a close bond to a bunch of weirdos on the internet as when summit told me "we're going to go watch Max Gosey huck a 25 footer"... it was like justification for all the hundreds of hours spent reading this forum.
Of course i didnt go watch, i went skiing instead. i figured it would be up on here soon enough and it was a powder day.
Nice TR Max, that was some serious stoke.

Seldom Seen: cool to meet you... sorry we didn't get to ski
I think the form was good considering the sketchball entry and takeoff.
SanDisk's file recovery software stripped the EXIF data. IIRC my settings were:
~100mm M 1/160 f/3.5 ISO100 AWB
Yes, handheld with a Canon Powershot A610 point and shoot. Handholding wasn't my issue though... low light->low shutter speed... I shoulda bumped the ISO and taken the noise hit
This is the part of the story where everyone on the board who hates on Max realizes he's a better skier than they are.
Well done Max, that's a legit air in those conditions.
Nice steeze halo boy. Impressive.
Nice work fellas, as Z said, that is a legit air Max. Those of us in Aspen had to be content with only 2-3ft of freshies.
I'm impressed and I'm not easily impressed, oh look a blue car! Nice work to everyone, way to get after it before it all melted today.
This thread is stoke compliant.
just wanted to chime in that over the years this guys' taken a ton of abuse, but his positive attitude has always been pretty incredible. i called that his level of stoke would, if he didn't kill himself, result in good things (he didn't quite appreciate my well-intentioned comment at the time).
anyway, it's awesome to see him still getting after it, despite the injuries / haters / setbacks. the photos posted clearly show that the abilities are stepping up to match the enthusiasm.
hope you have a great season, and thanks for posting this. (nice sequence, summit -- always love those PS stitches.)
Way to get after it Max and crew!
You got some goods I am jealous of.
Great write up. Thanks.
And I'm glad to see you're learning to appreciate all the aspects in this fine sport.Quote:

It WAS a good weekend, now wasn't it?!
Next time tell goldenboy and I when you're coming to CB!
Yeah, a lot of people get intimidated by my buck-thirty five pounds until they get to know me. I guess that's the price I pay for being so huge. ;):D Next time say what's up...
Glad you guys had fun. A buddy of mine is taking his painting crew down to WC tomorrow, so I'm going to pile in with them for the local's appreciation day-- hopefully you guys left a few scraps for us.
Nice work on showing the JONGs how to post a TR proper!
Way to represent Maggots :yourock:
This thread seems to have put everyone in a happy place.
Thanks mucho for the stoke!!! Good call...
It's not the size of the man, but his commanding presence that matters... I'll take note next time. Looking to be there 5 weeks from now again, so I'm sure I'll see you guys.
Thanks for the encouragement, all. Now it's time to go out there and do it again and again and again to reinforce that this is something I can do. I will not settle for a "fluke". (In retrospect, nor should I have settled for a sloppy landing to short straightline... would have liked to make some clean turns out of it, but I was too shocked. Now if only we could get some snow on #4 headwall...!!!) I'm hoping this is the beginning of a good season for Young Maxwell.
Max nice huck man and good meetin ya for that brief minute
On another note, Goldenboy - i'm gonna be down in CB for the last days of ski free - prob the 14th or 16th if you are gonna be around. How did that storm fill things in down there?
Awesome TR gosey!! well written and the anticipation for the huck pics was well deserved. SOLID on your part. Kepp it up.
I'll probably be around. That storm was, for all intents and purposes, the very first one of the year. It helped out huge, but TNF/Headwall/frontside need another big dump before they have any chance of opening. I didn't get out today, but I was expecting the Twister runs to open possibly today. Without any more snowfall between now and then, I would expect everything but TNF/HW/FS to be open. If this weekend's storm ends up being another good one, they could have at least the headwall open.
sick, indeed.
sick, indeed.
hey tall as motherfucker
you posted twice
fuck
blow me, sunshine
Stoke Bump
I haven't been on the board in a while. Is Max a doctor now?
GREAT BUMP! Max is an MD, working through a residency right now.
