I saw it on CNN today too, but they put up a headline title banner thing describing the clip on the bottom of the screen (above their news ticker), so all you could see was the ceiling going by. They even played the clip twice, but it was worthless because you couldn't see the bottom half:rolleyes:
Haha, "The World" by PRI on NPR just interviewed him. He denied it, and said he didn't know how his picture got up afterwards and if he would have done it, it would've been scary and fast, etc etc. Pretty funny. He kept insisting on how he "had to go". Not conclusive one way or the other, but cool stuff nonetheless. According to the piece this came up in Jan. and the authorities *may* not be able to press charges.
"A MAN who filmed himself skiing down the longest escalator on London's underground rail network has been branded "dangerous, stupid and irresponsible".
The man hurtled down nearly 60m at Angel tube station with a camera strapped to his head and posted the video on the YouTube website.
The 60-second film shows the man climb the escalator, clip on his skis at the top and begin his high-speed descent as onlookers shout out behind him.
London Underground condemned the stunt.
"This is a dangerous, stupid and irresponsible act that could have resulted in serious injury or death to not only the individual concerned but also other passengers," it said yesterday.
"London Underground will press for the police to take the strongest possible action against anyone attempting a similar act on the tube network."
A British Transport Police spokesman said it was a "naive and reckless act" and urged witnesses to call them. "
"naive and reckless" my ass. They had spotters and noone was able to get near the escalator. Also, the time that they did it, the area looked rather vacant.
Get out the tampons, because someone is bleeding from the vag something fierce if they are so upset by that.
As was stated in the other thread, that was very tame in comparison to a 100 ft jump, or skiing a rocky chute.
Cool! Bump. Funny how the media has spun it into something on par with a bomb scare.
