Help!! Fischer Atua or Dynastar Big Trouble

-2cm from sidewall mark or true ski center. Mine are this years model and there is a sidewall mark and a plate with Big Mountain line furthest back and Park Line all the way forward with lines every 1/2cm between the two. I was thinking halfway between the center mark and the Park line. Like I said before I want to mount them as far forward as possible while still keeping the tips up, and keeping there stability at high speeds.

If you can wait until Friday I'll take a look at where my bro has his mounted +3 from. Wherever that is, I'd go 2cm back of it. I'll let you know. And I think you made the right choice bailing the on Big Troubles.

Great I might get them mounted friday afternoon otherwise it will be later this weekend or early next week.
He does have this year's model (Black and red topsheet) correct?

Hey I have mine mounted an inch ahead of the mark on the sidewall, I wouldn't pay any attention to the mounting guide on the topsheet, I have a bunch of fishcers and I always go by the mark on the sidewall... Anyway they will still buy you some float in the pow and they ski really well all mountain with this mount point, and it still allows you enough tail to land/ride switch

Just a hair over 2.5cm ahead of the sidewall that sounds "Very Niiice"

I've got the 04/05 model and it's the side wall marker. Wait for wren's response. I use mine strictly for pow days, and thus like the rearward mount.

i don't know were she got her crack, but i can tell you the ARVs are significantly softer than Atuas. not even close, ARVs are probably the 2nd softest ski i've ever flexed (1st being fujatives) while atuas are on the softer side of medium. having skied both the BTs and Atuas i would take atuas for all mountain cause they float better and are equally as stable (smaller tail and fatter makes up for the sidecut), i was actually surprised how stable they were for how poppy and responsive they were. comparing the flexs, the atua is almost even throughout the ski while the BT is softer in the tips and tails than underfoot. both good skis, if you're around my weight or smalller i'd go atua, if you're heavier i'd go BT. im 5'10" 175 for reference.

Yeah, I didn't make that quite clear. She was talking about the difference between the Atua and the BT (not the ARV).

What I was saying is that I was looking at trying either the Atua or the ARV as something softer than the BT. I had heard them both refered to as "what you PR's should be." That's why I was looking at those two for a softer ski.

I'm a 260lb, 6'6" guy and am interested in the Atuas. Read many reviews and have been watching this thread for a while, but am not sure if I should go with these. I saw somebody say they do well on the icy days. I live on the East Coast and ski shitty ice 90% of the time. Is the 96 waist going to be too big? I am tired of the tiny waist skis around here and not doing well when we finally do get good snow.

i love my atua's( 05-06 model), mounted with naxo's @ the center line i'm 5'11, 165 .for a fat ski they have a good side cut, they handle well on everything i have thrown at them, but they love the powder the most. they should be fine for the ec. only gripe i have is the tail could be a little less of a bend as they tend to get caught up on each other when touring.

I'm not sure at your size and weight that you'd want to go with the Atua. Especially if you primarily ski out East. As for ice, they aren't great. I much prefer my Legend 8000's for days when it's hardpack. I'd think you'd be better looking at a mid 80's mm ski for the EC. Legend 8800/ Mythic, K2 Outlaw, Elan 777, Atomic Snoop. I hear Fischer is coming out with a new line next year of all mountain skis, you may want to look into the RX Big Heat with a 90 mm waist.

I know the ski isnt really meant to be a groomer/ice ski, but I have been looking at them and am really interested, I know if I buy them that they will go threw a lot of ice and groomers and crap so I dont want them to suck on groomers and ice, also are they comparable to prophet 100's. Thanks
