Gotamas are designed for powder and softer snow. They're great on groomers for a wide ski but they are a little sluggish that's why you need to put the peddle down to get some snap out of em'. You'll luv em in the pow and chopped snow. Let em' roll a little more! Also I found by really concentrating on initiating the turn with my angles then driving through with a little more knee angle than "normal" I generated a very powerful turn every time.... just a thought. Another thought is and I tell this to everybody, Volkl makes a demanding ski that is not designed for everybody to like. Everybody skis a different style and certain skis will suit them better than others.

5'9" 150lbs... i started with an 03/04 176... too short too soft.
went to the 04/05 183 (the stiffest year) its the right ski for me
courtesy of my new boots they are +0.5cm (instead of -0.5) ... and i can actually feel the increased tip dive in pow and and amazing amount of increased maneuverability in soft bumps and trees
