Whoa! I skied the Rubies on Saturday and I'm really, really impressed. They absolutely railed on the groomed. They reminded me of a slightly fatter 1st gen Gotama with a little more sidecut. Essentially, the perfect ski.

^^^ That seems about right on the flex to me (only hand flexed).
Couldn't pass up a pair for $250 :D
Now or some tele binders and to figure out how to get skins on these things.
the life link tip hardware works. i added that to some sts glidelites for my comi and its been working great. you get double elastic tensioning!
used these tips:

The 1st gen Gots were fairly soft compared to their newer bretheren. That said, the Ruby tips seem a bit softer. I charged through some frozen chunder and the tips were flapping everywhere, but underfoot the ski was absolutely railing. They just hooked up so well for me. I love the newer Gots, but sometimes I miss the flexy floatiness of the original ones.
Anyway, screw the comparisons. It seems to me like the Ruby is the ski I've been lusting for. Plus they're super light. I'm thinking this is my new AT ski fo sho!
I'm 5'9" 170.
maybe it's all this longboard talk lately. maybe I have a complex.
what's all this hush, hush comi talk?
What would you think of the 188 Ruby with a melee rocker.
Compared to the ruby what is the Melee like? (versitility, turning?)
