I'd gladly use an improved TGR chat. I hate unnecessarily cpu-intensive bullshit, so I understand your concerns ... but the cutechat interface just doesn't feel right. I'm ok with cuteness, and some of the features seem like improvements (e.g. who's typing status indicator), but I'm part of a secretive organization whose motto is "We Fear and Hate Change." I'll be over at ifh with the usual suspects.
