Respect Orders shipped?

Well I just got this email from Winc., you think a company would do a little background check on their DVD producers before they announce on their website their movie is shipping in November. Being honest and up-front works alot better with me then to keep giving me totally made up BS ship dates. heres the email:

"Thank you for your email and your thoughts have all been noted. We are kinda wondering where the movies are to, and have continually been on the phone to our distributor in CA about where our movies are. We don't replicate them in house and can therefore only give you the information they give us about when we expect them. We, like you, are furious that they have not arrived yet and agree that it is not acceptable. It has caused us as much if not more inconvenience than you and additionally embarrassment, and I assure you that I don't enjoy having to tell you one thing and then another. Our business is production not DVD replication and so until we have them we can only do so much; we are ready to send them when they arrive here (packaging and address labels printed etc) and I will be the one working through the night to get them out to you within 24 hours of arrival.

so as usual they know nothing, way to have your shit together winc.

1. I'm awaiting my DVD too. I ordered way back in the summer a day or 2 after they started taking orders.

2. I don't think Wink has been dishonest or made up any ship dates. If their replication house tells them their stuff will be ready by November. Then that's what they are going to tell customers. Communication could perhaps be better....but they can only pass along the information that their replicating house is telling them, and if their replicating house is pulling their chain, then they're probably better off keeping quiet rather pass along vague or misleading info.

I dunno. I want my movie too....but in the end, it's just a movie...my world will still rotate fine without it and then hey, when it shows up, fucking awesome and I'm stoked.

despite the seemingly endless woes that the company has faced thusfar in trying to carve a niche for them in the industry, they have always been very timely and responsive in their emails. Still though, sounds like they desperately need a new production company for their movies.

What was their excuse last year for the late shipdate? Was it production issues again?

dude, just cancel your order already.

I don't recall them having any excuses, but I remember there being a valid reason.

just cancel your order and get your money back if you're unhappy. then when you hear the dvd's are in-house, place your order again if you still want the movie.

Hopefully next year they don't use the same DVD replication company. :)

Editing. I think they just had the raw footage sitting around all summer looking for somebody with some skill to edit it and get it onto DVDs. (I don't actually know the specifics of why they took so long to edit, just that it was editing problems.)

I did get my Complete History of the Denver Broncos 2-DVD set and have been watching that, and I'm not allowed to open what I am 98% sure is Anomoly because it is a Christmas present and under the strict protection of my wife (the gift is from her) so I am just hoping Respect/Waiting Game get here sometime between now and Happy Baby Jesus Day.

dunno, no ship email for me yet, would be an excellent treat after finals

I just got my email saying that my status is "Shipped" with a shipping date listed as tomorrow. Will let others know when I actually get it, but it is looking good.
