Living/Skiing in France?

That place looks amazing. I cant imagine how cheap it was 5 yrs ago with a dollar that was worth something.

Maybe the currency might be worth something again one day, then again maybe not.

Moutiers is located in close proximity to 3 Vallees/Les Arcs/Val d`Isere. I stayed with a friend in Meribel who had a chalet at the base of the mtn(near ice arena) not many of those small places left slopeside. You`d need a car though in Moutiers to get to the skiing(no trains up the valley) or find a quiet village downvalley from Meribel/Courchevel/Val Thorens. Lots of terrain and with exploratory skills, you can escape the masses on piste or go touring.

The Olympic gondola from Bride-les-Bains(2km from Moutiers) whisks you up to Meribel, so no car required. I don't think anywhere in les 3 vallees could be described as quiet, except maybe Lac du Lou, off the back of Val Thorens.
