No bet. I rescind my comments.Quote:

Some folks keep a few extra bucks in their bank account for times of emergency, maybe this is what Floyd had for his emergency. Testing is random, right, maybe he figured his number had been called enough that he was statistically in a safe place for this kind of risk. What did he have to lose, he had let the race get away from him so much that he'd be looked on as a sucker if he didn't win and he'd have no job offers after the hip replacement.

His mom said, "I wouldn't blame him if he's taking pain medication for his hip. If it's something stronger than that, then he doesn't deserve to win."
Those mennonites are serious.
I know, what a bitch.
"Mom! Stop talking to the AP!
i hope his bprobe will be negative but i admit, that i doupt that. testo is the stuff you would take to be able to do a wonder like his 17th monster ride …
Phil only absence is if you weren't looking in.
and I miss you.
and AC, no need for recincion except for the "Inexorable" part.
that stings.
you and others have swayed my opinion often.
even when I am right ;)
D-Day the Inexorable... I thought it had a nice ring. It was a compliment!
I've seen you ski, remember.
It would appear the gauntlet of commercial collapse has already been thrown down.Quote:

I have no idea how this will play out, but John Eustice (ESPN cycling analyst) said that Landis' testosterone levels were low (see article)
http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/tdf200...ory?id=2531225
and that simply the ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone was too high (read that his epitestosterone was very low). According to this WADA document, (see article)
http://www.wada-ama.org/rtecontent/d...ids_aug_04.pdf
when a T/E ratio comes in high that it is often because epitestosterone was too low (and it can be very difficult to measure accurately) and in those cases the level of testosterone should be looked at (which according to Eustice - was low). In addition, apparently they are looking into how his cortisone shots (approved for him) or beer drinking may have impacted his ratios.
At any rate the credibility of his TDF win has been called into question (and there will always be a shred of doubt even if he is cleared by the B sample) so the French press certainly have gotten what they wanted regardless of how this eventually plays out.
But maybe I am wrong about all of this...
Exactly! Seems to me that before there can be any absolute rules there needs to be an absolute test, which there isn't. Too much is left to interpretation ...Quote:

If Floyd Landis is guilty, we should find out when both samples are tested, a positive for doping is verified, yada, yada, yada.
If he is innocent, and it is determined that the test was jacked, that it was a natural process in his body, or that his testosterone was too low in relation to the Epitestosterone, then the public shouldn't even facking know about the A sample being positive.
I freaking love cycling, but this crap is going to kill the sport.

Bad press or good press, cycling is definitely being talked about.
Fingers still crossed that Floyd comes out clean from this. Even moreso that Floyd actually did nothing, not just got away with doing something that fell into the 'gray area'...
I agree but in this case it seems that his not showing up for an event kinda let the cat out of the bag.Quote:

^ nonono, you're making way too much sense! just knee-jerk the frenchies into surrendering instead! :)
I think the french are on a witch hunt for an american dopper. How many times did these rumors come out after each and every one of Lance's victories???. Its more of the same....I hope.
I am with Freshies, I can't beleive that Floyd would be doping, knowing that he was coming into this tour to be a GC contender. He is smaaarter than that......I hope again.
i'm sure their journalists are just as sensationalistic as ours. i also believe a lot of french people may get a kick out of catching the american winner doping...
it appears however, that the rules do not allow landis to be given the benefit of the doubt (i.e., this isn't even a moral issue anymore). i'll still have my convictions then, but after a few months, calmer minds will write the history regardless of how many facts are known, and that is what will remain as true. the blame game is useless as an excuse.
These rumors came out after Indurain victories, after Pantani victory... These rumors are old as the Tour itself. And it's not only rumors. Pantani was on drugs, Virenque, the last french racer able to win the Tour has been convicted of doping charges, Armstrong and Indurain were associated with Michele Ferrari...Quote:
