Didn't read the article did you? The article was shit? Let's hear your side sonny boy.... "Anti bush childish nonsense"? I highly doubt you could have an intellectual discussion on the topic. You're obviously full of a lot of pro- Bush nonsense. Get back to school and read a little more on the subject before posting.
I'm full of a lot of pro-bush nonsense? As if you aren't overflowing with liberal bullshit? And yah, I could have an intelligent conversation about this, I just completed a fucking government class taught by a liberal jackass and my term paper was all about the positive things Bush has done. OF which liberals know little. Which is why they make ignorant assumptions, and just go on living their lives thinking that some fucking tree hugger would be better at getting shit done.
Clearly, your are in a position to elucidate. Please do.Quote:

Then of course, someone else will provide counterexamples. But it would be really interesting if it could be done without the namecalling and vitriol. Possible?

Anyway, Mr. G almost has a point. But critiquing is not self loathing. America is the greatest. It's just that it could be better.
If anything, Bush squandered the compassion that the world had for us after 9/11 and the unity we could have had as a nation.
While I disagree with the oily rod in degree, I might also agree in direction.
May you all find faceshots, satisfaction and solace.
Critiquing is fine. Talking out your ass about shit without facts, and being a uneducated knee-jerk Bush hater for the purpose of being trendy is another.
Bush is tough, did'nt beg the world to go and do what it took to get after those that were a threat to America.
If I want to kick your ass because you killed my family OR threatened to, I'm not going to ask for the permission from the maggots/minions to do so. If they don't like it, I really don't give a fuck. My family/COUNTRY comes first. Does that make things any clearer to you? Same thing.
I'm not sure how your first post could be construed as a critique. Additionally, saying we're hated around the world is also not a critique.
A critique goes something like this: "Reardon's contention that the Iraq war is not a part of the GWOT, but a diversion is patently untrue. Abu Nidal and Abu Abbas(some palestinian wacko) were not visiting the Iraqi Riviera. They were using Iraq as a safe haven from prosecution."

Wait. Are you serious? Please tell me your joking. You actually believe that America "could be better" What, do you want them to come wipe your ass when your done taking a shit or something? What more could you want? Are there not enough recycling centers? Please don't tell me this is about the war. It's not like your fighting. Your just sitting back criticizing everythng that passes in front of you.
you really think Bush "squandered" america after 9/11? Were not his approval ratings after 9/11 90%, the highest appoval ratings any president has EVER gotten except for FDR?
This just goes to prove that you liberals will never ever be satisfied with anything. You just like to complain.
edit: excuse me, they were the highest poll ratings EVER.
"George W. Bush's job approval rating soared after the attacks to the highest EVER recorded in opinion polls, peaking at 92 percent Oct. 9." gee our president is dumb
The article is not "talking out your ass about shit without facts". And I belive that since Bush is President, supporting him is trendy, by definition.Quote:

Tough doesn't mean smart. Saddam wasn't a threat. Al Qaeda is a threat and is more so than ever. Pissing off millions of middle east Muslim is a threat. Ashcroft is a threat, as is Poindexter.Quote:

It's my country too buddy, so start treating it with some respect. Your conduct continues to be pathetic.Quote:

Looks like terrorism has worked exactly how it was designed to on you...pussy.Quote:

Actually, you need to respect your country..you're either part of the problem, or part of the solution and your not working on answers right now.Quote:

I really don't give a fuck about what you think about my "conduct". You are controlled by fear, acceptance, and everything else.
I am controlled by logic...you may never get it.
I'm serious.Quote:

Your puerile scatological rerferences only erode what little credibility you have. Please attempt a bit of maturity.
I'm not criticising everything. America is the greatest country in the world. Did you get that the second time? But if you really think it couldn't be any better, you're no American. America is founded on the ability for free speech in the hopes that such free speech will allow us to evolve into the best society, the most powerful and magnanimous imaginable. I hope the connection isn't too complicated.
You might note that I never wrote that Bush is dumb. I have been farly clear (at least to some) that I disagree with a lot of his policies and actions. I think O'Reilly is a pathological liar. And I think that the term "liberal" is invoked with the same blind rage that "nigger" was in the south in the 50's.
What is Bush's approval rating now? How has his conduct represented America in Europe and the Middle East?Quote:

What is a liberal? Why is it such a "bad" thing?
Bush has squandered the empathy the world had for America after 9/11. There is evidence that his administration knowingly misconstrued intelligence in order to sell the Iraq war to the American people.
Evidently it's pointless to bring this up to you.
Why is he so concerned about the opinions of Euro Trash liberals and Towel heads? Believe in yourself/country/etc. Then get some balls....thank god we have balls in the White House, not a bunch of pacafist pansies...Go sing koom-by-ya or whatever the fuck it is....
My oh my this is rich.
Wonder how different things would be if the Draft were re-instituted.........now THAT would be funny. :p
I wish I was like you- able to see complex issues as either a yes or no question.Quote:

You're with us or aginst us. You're part of the solution or part of the problem. Either support Bush or you're anti American.
Whatever.
It's a requirement to be in the Armed Forces in several countries in Europe. Fear definitely clouds your judgement..Quote:

Number one, it's clear that you don't have the slightest idea what I'm writiing about. Number two, since you don't you revert to the usual, tiresome ad hominem attack.Quote:

At least Mr. G. just gets sarcastic or snotty, but displays an element of argument and a cogent point of view.
Now that is funny. And you're still projecting.Quote:

AS wild as it seems, sometimes I think that reinstituting the draft would be a good thing. Right now we're developing a military class of people, professional warmongers. The draft would dilute the military culture.Quote:

You know, it would be nice if we had a Health Care plan in this country. You know, this is the richest nation in the world, yet there are millions of people who can't afford to go to a doctor. Perhaps if I had acees to medical care, I could have been treated for skin cancer before it developed into phase III melanoma, and wouldn't have to be going through vigorous therapy right now.
Conservatives always talk about helping small businesses, but how many small businesses can afford to provide insurance for their employees?

Take a look at the Billboard Hot 100 and see how often poularity equals quality.

Libereals aren't the ones who try to organize boycotss when they don't like what's on TV

BH-so is Ad Hominem your new term for the day? Just get "learned" on it?
You're just like all the other Liberals and turn your debate into comparing "how" I argue to others and what you percieve as projecting, instead of the facts.
In the real world you're the Monkey in the zoo jerking off in front of the masses...I'm the Zookeeper telling you that the other Monkeys here in the Zoo may find it quite entertaining and insightful in watching you........However, the real world is laughing at you and your gross lack of REALITY and your over-inflated ego which is derived from an illogical action/arguement that the rest of the liberal monkeys find amusing. Keep at it, they may learn how to jerk off in front of the patrons as well as you do.
I'm done here. Happy jerking jackoff!!
Blurreds Darlink...you're on my "ignore list" but on the off chance you were responding to me I took a peek.Quote:

No fear here with regard to the Draft and I am aware of the many nations that require military service but I don't see how that has anything to do with my "wondering" (for wondering was all I was doing).
And in case you're wondering......no need to respond further
;)
KQ, what would be so interesting about re-instituting the draft.
The armed forces are the greatest class equalizer ever. there is not another avenue to move from the depths of poverty into the middle class or higher.
That is, unless you're a rapper or a baller.
Most amusing O pathetic one. Your namecalling continues to be weak, transparent, unimaginative and tiresome.Quote:

If a vote was taken, I guarantee that you'd be the monkey.
BTW, please enumerate my liberal qualities.
[sarcasm]I'm sure our President, Vice President, Dan Quayle, and Al Gore would agree[/sarcasm]Quote:

The question of your joke, whether you know it or not is how would our public perception of war be different if we had to go fight ourselves.Quote:

MY STATEMENT was that in certain countries, you are required to be in the military. I also said that fear clouds your judgement. Most of Europe frowned on us going to Iraq. Judgement was clouded, they don't see the big picture.
I'll refrain from argunig with you too....it's rather pathetic when I have to explain YOUR arguement to YOU too. Please save MY time and keep me on ignore, thanks.;)
why does everyone block blurred? is it cause they know he's right?
Ironic, isn't it?Quote:

What? You mean the ability of the upper and middle class to use the lower classes to do there dirty work? (EG- Vietnam era draft exemptions given to college students) The military is a great place to advance your class status when there isn't a war on, but minorities and the poor get screwed when their is one.Quote:

KQ- Selective Service Positions being filled
Quote:
"Increasingly, military experts and even some influential members of Congress are suggesting that if Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's prediction of 'a long, hard slog' in Iraq and Afghanistan proves accurate, the U.S. may have no choice but to consider a draft to fully staff the nation's military in a time of global instability."
