Big 'ole chunk of cornice in there somewhere.........
Lemme just turn this camera ninety degrees....
Avy prepares to cough up chunk of cornice...........
If you look closely at the very leading edge of the avalanche you can see the chunk of snow getting thrown out ahead of the slide.....
Chunk 'o' snow gains momentum.........
It's tough to see the chunk, but it is leaving a snow/vapor trail behind it as it accelerates away from the avalanche...........look below and to the right of the rock outcropping just below center of the pic............
Now you can see the chunk out there a couple hundred feet below the avalanche......
