Kite surfing/boarding/skiing, or anything of the "kite" variety would be pretty cool. Kite surfing, especially in rocky areas can be pretty "colorful" too. [see "death," below.]
Moab is played out. Mountain biking [while fun,] is actually pretty played out altogether. Methinks the MTB idea is about 10 years too late.
Melissa Theuriau is AT LEAST a ten on the clydesdale scale.
Freeclimbing big walls always draws the gapers, even if it's been pretty beat up by the media. On second thought, People like when the media beats shit to death, so this might actually work to your advantage.
People who scale big mountains; K2, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Aconcagua... [Everest is played out.] always get the interest of people, even if they're not typically of the adventure-seeking variety.
Epic is a lame title. You need something more attention getting; On the Edge of Death, Hanging by a Thread, Cheating Death, Death Technicians, blah blah, blah. Americans have an insatiable fascination with death. Frequent TV watchers even more-so. Death is king, people want to hear about people who die or almost die. IMO; If you kill them, they already know what happens. If they just barely stay alive, your viewers will stay glued until the credits roll. Sad but true.
So Stephanie Abrams and Alexandra Steele (For the Cougar factor) in a wet T-shirt contest in the Alaska in Winter. Yeah, that sounds like an extreme sport worth watching.Quote:

Learning more of the details about this new program. Apparently there is also going to be a sweepstakes as a promotional tie in with this show. There will be three winners and you get to choose which adventure vacation you want to take. One of the six choices will be a Heli-skiing trip. Would love to see someone around here be one of the winners. The sweepstakes should be somewhere during Jan. or Feb. of 2007. I'll bump this when I know more details.
Tuffy, I think you should try throwing some cash the way of my LA salespeople's way and see if you suprisingly become one of the winners.
I'd like to see some programming about Tazmania/NZ, Oregon, Baja, Patagonia, French Polynesia, Maldives.
dibs on winning

I like the "Sickbird" title. Then you could have him fly around...."CAW, CAW, CAWCAWCAW."
Where is he, anyways?

Maybe some windsurfing in Lake Arenal, Cost Rica?
Great idea for a show... It really wouldn't get tired. For instance a show on surfing would be completely different based on Jaws or Teaupoo... skiing at K-wood vs. Portillo
Props!
How about a Heli mtb segment.
Vancouver North Shore, if done right with the correct locals could be really cool.
Whistler mtb is the new moab.
Local weather on the 8s...Quote:

Found out a few more details. Trips will be:
-Alpine Climbing course in AK
-Mountain Biking in Moab
-Sailing off the coast of New England
-Heli Skiing/Boarding in Colorado
- Surf Camp in Southern California
- River Rafting in Wyoming
Contest will be in Feb. when show premieres.
Also Tin Woodsman, I got a questions for you. Do you get Weather Channel via Direct TV or cable?
...
To add to the reccommendation of Silverton, I think you'd be well served to do a 2 part series on extreme skiing in CO, including a segment on Silverton and a segment on ski mountaineering the high peaks. Davenport's recent conquest could fit in well here...
